@AnalogMan

What I personally do is get a template created for the cards on PrinterStudio.com and have custom playing cards printed out. These are professionally done and extremely high quality; basically those top quality poker playing card materials you'll see in casinos...then I put the sticker NTAG215s in the circle where the Amiibo symbol is. Works great and I don't have to worry about printing anything myself.
I thought about that, I really did. Even downloaded the template to see how much bleed I would need. I've considered it hard, but I would prefer the tag to be in the card and not a sticker the back. I may resort to this though. I wonder if there's a way to get NFC tags on a sheet of paper so I can print the Amiibo logo on them...
Wouldnt you have problems smoothing the surface when applying the coating?
You use a foam brush rather than a bristle brush. Comes out pretty smooth.
Can someone tell me why they so cheap here:
https://www.alibaba.com/trade/searc...ext=ntag215+inkjet&isGalleryList=G&viewtype=G
And how order them? :)
And Inkjet mean that I can delete Ink from it?
They're cheap because they're direct from the manufacturer mostly and the shipping from China is about 30-40 days. Beware the ones that say Inkjet printable, contact the seller ahead of time with your printer model to be sure they'll print before you buy then, so that if they end up being the wrong type you can quote their assurance to your printer model and have a no-contest return.

What if you made the back aswell and put it in the middle and glue both sides together?

I take it the cards you got, only their factory printer can print on them?

There is no order page. You contact the seller via an instant message page on the site, you tell them what you want (aka, what type of NTAG you want), they quote you a price and shipping and then send a contract. If you accept the contract it takes you to a purchase page.

I would need an ID printer that uses dye infusion. $400 used for one, $1000-$1500 new.

Which seller did you buy from? Can you link so they can be avoided by others
Look back he did link it

Do you have to pay return shipping though. That would be annoying

Not sure yet. They have 1.5 more days to "work it out with me" before the site's assurance takes over. I won't be sending them back if I do.

It will be more like 200pcs x $0.47. The $0.01 - $1.00 is a large gap. So if you order around 100,000 you might get them for $0.01 each but it would still probably be around $0.10 each. Shipping on 200 cards will be about $47.00.
This from my experiences with Alibaba and aliexpress.

I order 100 because that was their minimum and it seems like a good number.

It came out to $0.35 USD a card due to the low order number and the NTAG215 chip being more expensive.

Shipping was overnight UPS Express and cost $28 USD. It was the first choice they offered and I took it.

I did not order from them, ShenZhen is a location, many shops use that in their name. That store's actual name is JustGlobalCard.

So likely it will be something like $0.20 USD per card. The box my cards came in was meant for 200, so they likely would ship them as 10 200 card boxes. The shipping method they used was UPS Saver envelope. 2000 cards would be roughly 9 lbs vs my 0.5 lbs so your shipping may be much more, in the range of $50-60 if you get the same shipping I did. Most of their shipping is much slower though, 30-40 days.

Got some pvc nfc cards but not sure if its inkjet. Havent bought a printer that supports printing on pvc cards yet. Is there a way to find out if its printable other than asking the seller?

The ink just beads up and wipes off clean. There is no package, it's a deck box with 100 shrink wrapped cards in it. The online listing specifically said Inkjet Printable ID card but after submitting a refund request it's clear these vendors have no clue what inkjet printable means.

I may just get regular PVC NTAG215's (cheaper than these ones) and treat them with this stuff meant for playing cards: http://www.inkaid1.com/inkaid-coatings/inkaid-clear-semi-gloss-precoat

It's basically the same coating that photo paper has. I can brush it on the cards an then run it through the printer that way.

If you're planning to do that, try searching mod podge pvc. Mod podge can be made with 1 cup pva glue and 1/3 cup water

You're suggesting that as a coat after printing, not as a replacement for Inkaid, right? I don't know if it would be necessary with Inkaid, and it might blur/smear the print.

For cheap and good results I used some plastic sheets and 2 addhesive paper. Put the tag on the plastic sheet and then put front and back printed and then cut the whole finished card. It was durable enough and I printed them on a laser printer and everything was great!

Only put the adhesive papers on pvc NFC tag cards.

Has anyone stuck their tag in a base and placed a figure on top? WalMart sells these really cool Nintendo figures for roughly $3.50 a pop. You can always find them at the register near the candy. They would make for great custom Amiibo!

Write tag auto immediately pops up with done at the bottom of the screen even when there's no tag close by. After trying multiple times, my 3ds says that the tag isn't an amiibo. My Marth amiibo works fine. What do I do?
