Err... so are you asking is it possible to put existing Wii/VC games into a wad? Or are you talking about making your own game (or porting a non-wii game) to wii wad?

If the former, it's impossible to inject roms into other VC games to make a wad. If you're talking about the latter... If you have any programming expertise there is no reason why most software couldn't be ported to wii, then it'd just be a matter of making a forwarding channel...

But if you have to ask, then you don't have the ability to program and thus wouldn't be able to do it [IMG]

It's necessary to have WiiWare development kits from Nintendo, then an aproval for your game from them, injecting something totally new into a WiiWare game (as base) could be be litarally a pain in the ass I think.

It would be unnecessary to inject something into a wiiware game... We can already make wad files (which are nothing more than fancy containers for a banner and a .dol or .elf file).

That said, the games themselves still have to be programmed to run straight from the wii... Which is what my confusion on the OP post is... Whether they are talking about magically making any game in the world into a WAD or whether they wanted an existing emulatable game injected into a VC wad.

I thought "maybe a wad game is easier to make"
because i want some practice as game designer before I do the Game Designer study

WTF is your problem Juan? All he asked was a question.

Anyway, OP, get yourself over to http://devkitpro.org/ to install Devkitpro, which is a free development kit for Wii/GBA/NDS/PSP/other devices.

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_development Has some tutorials that can help you get started. If you have zero programming knowledge though, I'd highly suggest start making PC applications first.

Programming for a console is no easier than programming for the PC and is some ways more difficult (you have to transfer your code over to the console to be even able to test it)

There are various C/C++ tutorials out there that you can use that will aid you in both console and PC programming... That said, if you are really serious about learning to program, you are much better off finding a class to do it. Many community centers have basic programming courses, or if you're still in school most highschools offer basic programming classes as well.
