So, wii chess was a PAL/JPN game only, however im wondering if it is possible to make a USA/KOR version of the game with an iso region changer. I've thought of it and i see no reason why it wouldn't work. If its possible, then would that region changed game work online with others with the region changed game with the same region? Maybe the game has support for only PAL/JPN internet connection, but if we can make a different region, couldn't we burn that onto a disc and play it on a softmodded wii? If so, how would a USA/KOR wii react, would it launch, would it crash immediately, would it be a black screen? I am just curious about this.

Cheating? What advantage would u have in a chess game? I know some purists who compete in ssbb or other games will consider usb-loading or cios an unfair advantage due to loading speeds, but in a slow paced strategy game like chess, I don't think it applies

Btw not all wii's can play burned disks, and even those that can would benefit from usb loading instead

When i mean region free is cheating, i mean its not really a real " ntsc-u/k " game. It's just a PAL game that can run. Also im just curious what'd happen from playing a burned disc. I am not wanting to do it for obvious reasons, just curious

If it's WiiWare, patching the .wad for regionfree is useful for vWii.
...As for a burned disc, then it would boot based on your region patches, but you also need to consider supported video modes (which include the colour differences between PAL and NTSC)
