I remember I had a GC controller from that company hahaha, its was transparent with red neon cables. It was cool at sight but the stick died some months after I bought it and then I replaced with a cork. THE ABSOLUTE MADMAN was my nickname for some time haha.

I have one of their mice. There are a lot about it that I do like. But there are a few issues that I really hate. The battery life.
It's one of those wireless mice with a proprietary chargeable battery, and you get two batteries. At first, they lasted a day or two. Now, I have to change two times a day. But, prior to them closing down last time, I mailed their support about the batteries not lasting, and they sent a couple of new batteries completely free of charge, not even postage. They have now, one year later, suffered from the same fate as the previous two batteries, and only lasts for a third of a day.

As other members have mentioned, their products used to be of very good quality. In some instances outlasting the original accessories. My original Dreamcast controllers died, while my MadCatz are still running to this day. Including the Virtual Memory Units.


As far as their recent products, I can't speak for those. Wouldn't be surprised they started to cut corners and ended up putting out bad products.

Every one of my MadCatz controllers has broken, without exception, and I'm very careful with my electronics. If they're really reinventing themselves, then so much the better, but they're coming back heavily dogged by their past stigma, at least in my eyes.

MadCatz used to have some sweet shit IMO. I think something must have happened somewhere because eventually all their stuff was just the same rebranded crap. I had a sweet little MadCatz wireless media keyboard (before they were everywhere) that had a little glass touch pad that was context sensitive and had a led screen behind it (not anything fancy, touchscreens weren't ubiquitous at the time. Now its nothing special, my toaster has a 720p OLED touchscreen). I'm gonna try and find a picture... brb
