Awesome news on the update. All this activity from the m3 team, especially news that they are working on skins could mean that the firmware is done and they are just polishing and finishing up at this point. Maybe this all means that a release is imminent, or maybe even early!! Yea right, who am I kidding. Maybe beginning of June is for real though.

The update is great news, but I'm still curious how about GBA compability, is there a replacement for built-in PDA?
All we heard is the multimedia support only, strange thing is there's no news about DSM support.
As far as we know that DSM format from Moonshell team and GBAlpha are different.
 
Had my real about a month now and still haven't updated from my M3 Simply as I am waiting for this first.
Once it releases officially, if we haven't posted it on portal message one of us to do so please

I don't think so. I'm under the impression that you update it the exact same way you do with the current M3 firmware (drag and drop the system file onto the flash card).

It means that they made it possible to update stuff (like maybe RTS support, in-game-text, game and soft reset support updates) trough firmware updates, so it is updateable just as it was up till now..(this what I mentioned, RTS and ingame text isn't announced officially, I just used it as example because it is dooable, if they decide to develop it)..

Hmm, how will you chose to boot from slot-2?
And is there gona be a some sort of auto recognision of files. like gba, nds, homebrew and if it should start from slot-1 or slot-2?
 
Probably, we'll just have to wait and see..We still don't know if there will be an icon based menu, these are the only pictures we can see for now..

I don't believe they'll drop that boot slot-2 option, or any other functions..It will be just changed..
 
I think they added the option of slot 2 booting after the beta testing teaser, and they might change the gui because earlier they said the beta testing one wasn't definite.

On an off topic note;
I've done my first g6/m3 skin (current firmware) I call it Ice crystals, here's a screen.

Personally it's already my favorite skin.
 
they haven't done much changes to the gui i think, looking at the screenshots.
if so, the GUI will have 2 modes:
browser(1st thing you'll see) showing all files like how explorer.exe would show them on windows.
favourites(shown after every boot except 1st boot) showing on tab1(right) all nds games you've played so far
and on tab2 up to 5 .nds files placed in your "tools" folder(nice for things like GBA EXPloader)
 
M3 Sakura is coming on the 30th of May! The M3 Team has confirmed it!
