so the M3 real, is basically a cheap on the spot replacement, with basic firmware, so people have an alternative for the meantime while they develop the proper new firmare for the M3DS real.
the M3 real is the next flashcard, but they had to rush it out to replace the simply due to circumstances, and it has problems because of this, as the GBAtemp review said its only difference between the simply, is the SDHC support and GBA expansion support.

This is completely untrue.

The M3 Real came out months before the R4 raids, and even further before they started working on Sakura.

In addition to the GBA expansion support (the main selling point of the card) and SDHC support, it also has the PDA software, a touch screen menu, game icon support, slow-motion, among other things.

You obviously know very little about the flashcart scene, and seem to make this stuff up as you go. Stop wasting everyone's time.

I think the M3 real team should have waited till they actually had M3 sakura almost finished before announcing it....

They didn't just announced it, they released "test beta" version to see how will people react to it, and obviously, to test it..and they probably released the "other cart version" to attract more people, so once they see how will GUI look on M3 Real (and lots of people finds GUI important to look nice and be fast), they would switch to Real..
And the firmware was half-done..Maybe it just took tem longer then they expected to finish it..

Urza said it..this also isn't true, current firmware really isn't basic..It has cheat support, great skinning support, slow-motion, implemented PDA, implemented MoonShell most important of all GBA support (it was the first cart that enabled running GBA games without any additional application or homebrew, from original menu)..So lots of effort was put to this cart and it's firmware..But somewhere down the road, other carts was released, and they all had better solutions for firmware, and were "faster"..So M3 Team decided to stop this bashing on M3 Real (which is great cart, but other carts are simply faster and better responsive), and release new and better, improved firmware, to keep current users happy, and attract new users..
If you didn't know, M3 Team is one of the first teams in NDS homebrew scene, and they have long standing great reputation (somehow, when I read this, it reminds me of p1ingpong, and his fabulous posts..

Wasn't the EZ V the first cart with a expansion that writes gba games to NOR through EZ V menu without any programs (with the ezv), or are u saying it doesnt write to NOR but a much faster load? Or the gba expansion van be used it different carts? Or do u have that wrong? idk im kinda confused. But the M3 does look much better than the EZ 3-in-1, it had cheat support before EZ V also, but ive never tried out gba cheats on 3-in-1

Yes, you are correct. The EZ-V was indeed the first flashcart with native support for running GBA ROMs via an expansion pack.

..Wow..that means, I own you all apologies..I really do research a lot, and read lots of articles, manuals and stuff..but this is really new to me..I've read on many places and forums about M3 Real being the first to make such option, thank you for this information..
Anyhow, it's been said that M3 Real has it better than any other cart (I can't confirm this, only agree with the function being very user friendly, fast and painless to use on Real!!)

I like your thinking TopFragger, I mean I don't know if that's true, but the GUI is really bugging me, and Sakura just seems like it should have come standard. Every other cart I've seen has had a nicer GUI (Than the default Real)

Have you tried any other skins for it? M3 Real has great skinning support, and it's very easy to do yourself (provided you know something about image file formats). The only real problem comes from animations, which slow the GUI down even more than it already is (Sakura is supposed to remedy this).

(it looks that main problem for G6 is the save format, sakura will use .sav, while G6 has problems to replace saves from .0 to .sav)..Maybe they fix this somehow!

i think they just planned to let the betas work on other carts to give those users a sample. trying to sway users to their own card i guess.

the closest info i found about compatability is the following:
on release M3sakura will work only for M3, but after that they will work on making it compatible with G6.
this was information from about 1 month ago.

when u rename a .0 with .sav it's converted, i done this the other way round when i switched from m3 simply to m3 real

I know all that..I have M3 Simply and M3 Real, and I know it's the same format but different extension..But I'm talking about G6 having problem with the firmware updates, and the reason why Sakura probably won't work on G6 at first..
