I've got two brand new M3i Zero cards, but cannot get either to flash the f_core.dat firmware. Whatever I try the LED just stays solid Red, never flashes or goes off and DS does not "see" the M3

This is what I've tried:
  • Several differed SD cards from 64Mb to 2GB
  • Formatting as FAT & FAT32
  • Formatting on Win7, WinXP and using Panasonic tool
  • With F_CORE.DAT and SYSTEM on SD and F_CORE.DAT on it's own
  • Different downloads od F_CORE.DAT
  • Using DSL to flash (leaving the M3 + SD with F_CORE.DAT in a powered on DSL)
I'd be grateful if any one has any idea what else I could try?

Thanks

Fixed it!

Just in case anyone else is having the same problem, it turns out I just hadn't tried enough SD cards!

64Mb, 1Gb and 2Gb SD cards all failed

4Gb (San Disk) worked!

erm...I don't think there's an issue with sd cards.

when I first got mine I tried on a 8gb sandisk and the LED wouldn't blink.

turns out it has to be at an EXACT angle and THEN it will install the firmware...don't just lay it down on the table or it might not work...gently try different angles with the cord and it should work.

eventually

Gb = gigabit
GB = gigabyte

8Gb = 1GB.

Bugs me when people make that mistake.
