Hacking M3 real cheat code issues

I'm having problem with the cheats for game. Yoshi island. infinate flutter jump and backlight codes. As soon as I press the code to select it, the menu freezes and I have to turn off my ds.
Anybody else having issues with backlight codes for any games?
Or even the flutter jump code for yoshi island?

Alright I found my own conclusion, and it is
Only a certain number of cheat codes will work. I rearranged the ones that were not working to the top and then the codes worked. Although I couldn't get the back light code to work, but it didn't freeze up this time.

To answer how many cheats are allowed before freezing it is 100
I forget if it is on 100 or after 100 that it freezes on when a cheat is selected

To clarify, you mean 99/100 codes in the DB itself? You can make separate xml/db for each game and associate this (though I don't recommend it until they take care of the .gmc file creation bug I noticed when doing that myself).

I do know that a file is created that save the cheet settings.

no for each 100 pergame. I converted the R4 massive cheat dat. And only 100 per game. And for having more then one cheat file I have the original one that came with the firmware that I renamed to cheat1, but you can only use one database or the other, and not a little from both databases, but if it was a total thing 100 for all games I imagine splitting the databases per game would work.
For games like yoshi island which has a ton of codes because of all the level codes, like for levels unlocked perfect score, and levels unlocked no score. 8level per 5 world times 2 is alot of cheats and then there are others. But I rearranged the order of which cheat codes I would rather have working, and that seems to suit me for now.

this is also another question of mine as well. would like to know how to edit/add to cheat.db. its not the same as the cheat.dat or usrcheat.dat

hmm, it's not encrypted, but im too damn lazy to format stuff outside of notepad (which will screw with the file)

Just take the R4 dat open with R4CCE and convert it to xml and then use the M3/G6 cheat combiner.
Open the dat and then choose save as and then for file type drop down menu select xml
the only issue is that the backlight codes don't work on the M3real and I think it has to do with the real time cheat function, where with the M3 simply you don't have to have it on to have cheats enabled.

Are you using the cheat database made by Narin? That's never given me any trouble. You can get it here:

Download the ZIP at the bottom of the first post, then extract the XML and put it on your SD card.

Maybe you just need to delete it and replace it with a clean copy..?#

Where can I find the Cheat Combiner? Theres one on Rapidshare, but it contains a trojan.
