    ok for some reson im losing hard drive space for no reason,im running vista sp2,why is this happening?im not downloading big files or anything,im running ccleaner and disk cleanup but nothing

    Same for me wtf i have a 200gb hdd and i only have 40 left and i deleted almost all the files that were big and also from the recycle bin.

    @lolzed: try running defraggler, its made by the same people who make ccleaner, and is supposed to be the best. i ran it a few weeks ago and gained a couple gigs

    @justinrocks123: try ccleaner

    Even if you don't have the ability to access shadow copies because you'er on a low version of vista, they're still being made unless you turn it off. (Though there are 3rd party tools that let you get at the stuff if it's there)

    ok i tried doing that,i come up with
    how much should i reduce it?
    EDIT:also,how what is shadow copy anyway?and is this the thing thats making me lose hard drive space?

    Shadow copy makes backups of files you edit/overwrite, so that you can revert it to an earlier state.

    From what you pasted, it is currently using 28gigs

    Jeeeeeeeesus. No way do I want Shadow Copy enabled if I ever get Vista/7 ...
