I'm looking for the X-rom GBA flash cart (preferably 1G). I have check the seller list at the top of this thread but none seem to have them anymore. Is there anyone out there that know where I can buy an X-rom GBA flashcart?
hmm i see; okay well, GBA Flash Cart would be best to play the pokemon games (ones that require RTC)? That is the main reason why I wanted the x-rom; it had an internal clock battery.
You can patch all the RTC pokemon games save for emerald and aside from growing berries they work just as well- it is not about the battery either (most will have one for saves) but the RTC chip inside it.
Some of the M3 cards aside (which are even more rare and expensive) nothing since the GBA era has had RTC onboard- the pokemon games (which as mentioned can be patched) along with some boktai ones (again they have patches) aside nothing on the GBA really used it.
But don't those patches only work while in game? I mean, isn't the points of an internal clock battery for the clock to run while your not playing the game, hence the Real time Clock?
Last time I checked some out they had an odd form of time compression as well (faster day night cycle) which means it was only the berries that were troubled (the only other RTC related stuff was a change of wild pokemon probability0 but others do not it seems. I seem to suffer from pokemon triggered narcolepsy though so I am not sure what goes with the standard ones around now (it should not be too hard to activate cheats either).
Kind of pricey though, and I have no idea how good they are or if they're well supported. You should check the buy/sell part of this site, I can't get in there yet, but it looks like you have enough posts to get in. I was in your exact situation, I wanted a cart with RTC, and even if it was only for pokemon games and you could patch it, I still wanted one. I was lucky enough to recently score a great deal on the rare EZ Flash III and I love it so much. All games have run flawlessly on it and it has an RTC so Pokemon works perfectly. Good luck finding a cart with RTC, keep an eye out for an EZFlash III
If one does end up buying the XG2Turbo Flash carts from that site I can assure you that, while they do work, the battery runs out quickly. Luckily you can swap them out in the version they're selling at ic2005 (It would have been nicer if they had just put a decent battery in, but whatever). You'll need to get the largest one if you want to run some later, larger games on it. 128mbit and 256mbit won't cut it.
Also, what they neglect to mention is that the program you need to write to any XG Flash carts doesn't exist on the internet... Luckily it's been uploaded to filetrip; both the one for the XG Flash and XG2 Turbo. I sent ic2005 an e-mail asking them to put a link to those files on their site but they never replied or added the link.
