hey guys,

i was looking for some free MMO (RPG preferably. FPS are fine, too).
all i found was a compiled heap of shitty games on top 100 lists haha.
if you've got any fav's or games worth mentioning, feel free to do so.

thanks!

You seriously bumped it after it went down one spot?

Raganrok Online has an official free server that is slightly gimped but still playable.

That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head. I went through a number of free-to-play MMOs, but none of them came close to paying for WoW.

For FPS, there are a couple of free FPS games.

Enemy Territory (not Quake Wars, but the Wolfenstein one).
F.E.A.R. Combat.

I just bought Guild Wars a few day's ago in an impulse.

You could try that, it's pretty good

Yeah I play guild wars on and off, its good, not WOW, but you only buy it once (its pretty cheap) and then theres no subscriptions after.

Probably the best one out there that doesnt need a sub.

And dont bump your topics like that again, I will ban you!

acoustic.digital: Do not bump your topic after a few minutes. Be patient. It may be a day or two before someone replies.

You should try Final Fantasy XI.

Yeah yeah before some people start whinning about how hard it is to find parties and level grind, it has been fixed because now there is level sync and all that stuff so dont even start >.>

OKay now going back yeah you should try Final Fantasy it's free for 15 days so you can check it out. What I like is that most of the people (is say most because not everyone is) is nice and helpful to low levels.

You should try checking it out if you are a Final Fantasy fan

I'd go for Sword of the New World (http://swordofthenewworld.gamersfirst.com/index.php) and try it out. If you like it, then buy Guild Wars. It's pretty similar, but Guild Wars has an incredibly huge area to explore and really fun quests to go on.

Granada Espada was pretty fun when trying it out, but was heh...

Maple Story 'used' to be fun back in the day, if you can handle a whole bunch of faggots playing, go ahead and play it.

LaTale is a decent new MMO... not a big community makes it kinda suck.

If you wait a month or so WonderKing will be out and that shit will pwn, it'll be the next MapleStory but if you adapt early, not as many losers.

4Story is pretty much a free version of a mix of WoW and FFXI, heard it kinda sucks though.

Perfect World sucks HARD balls. >: |

Trickster Online is a GREAT game to play, if you can rally up 3 more people to play the other types you'll level uber fast with 2.5x experience 8D Played that game for a long time (got to 9x) until my friends quit.

Ragnarok Online LOW RATE private servers are AMAZING, if you can find a good one, go for it dude, I fucking loved that game, but the ambiance from private servers beats the real server imo.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
