Gaming Little Help With USB

Well when i got my m3 real awhile back i tried putting the microSD memory card into it and plugging it into my pc and it always just gives me some sort of error like unknowned port but it works fine on my other pc so i know its something with the pc. Sometimes it wont even detect the usb so is there a way to fix this?

USB Not Recognized

One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it.

Using Windows XP SP3 on this computer.

did you use the reader and card in another computer after you got that error?
do other usb devices work fine on the computer like flash drives?

1) reinstal USB drives from the comps manufactors site

2) if all else fails and the answer to the 2nd question was yes the get a new MicroSD reader

The usb works just fine on my other computer but just comes up as a unknown device on this computer and i tried uninstalled everything under usb and restarting the computer and it reinstalled them just fine but still the usb with the microsd in it still comes up as unknown. As for other usb devices working really the only other one i used on this pc was action replay for the ds and it wouldnt work either

Just asking, but are you using an SDHC?

Sometimes XP and SDHC aren't compatible if you have not downloaded the hotfix. Your other computers probably have the hotfix already or are using Vista.

SDHC shouldnt really be a problem
the one the comes with the m3real is SDHC compliant so any PC can read and write with it and he stated his other computer worked with it

so it seems the USB drivers on that computer are the problem from the symptoms

Put the usb stick - USB port.
goto your Device manager.
click on your universal serial bus controllers.
find the yellow (!).
right click mouse - click uninstall.
remove the usb stick.
restart your computer.
and plug the usb stick to USB port.

(auto new driver install)

done.


next time try use "Safely Remove Hardware"


tip: plug at the back of the computer (on the motherboard usb slot) = stable-volt...

Well nothing has worked so far and prolly wont cause this computer is pretty old so maybe i should just stick to using the other one xD
