That's a game update not a system update.
You were probably using a rev001 or rev002 SMOdyssey cart (which has v1.1 and v1.2 built in respectively)
And now you're trying to play with a v1.0 XCI or NSP
So the old saved game is incompatible

i manage to sort, had to factory default unfortunately.

I had the same problem in another thread. Fixed after help given by trying different updates from CDNSP until they matched my previous save version. Too old and it wouldn't boot. Too new and it needed firmware update to 5.1.

We need a new thread with game updates and required firmware version. I'll start a shared Google spreadsheet if there is any interest.

Hello
I have a really big issue and i was hoping that somebody in here could help me since i am not as experienced as you guys are.
I have Zelda botw on a cartridge and it used to be fine. Today, since i am an idiot, i tried to install both dlc .nsps and see if they would work on my ReiNX and firmware version 3.0.0
After i installed them successfully with tinfoil when i tried to launch the game it asked me to update the game. I deleted the game and every save file and now even when I launch on normal firmware its prompting me to install an update for the game in order to be able to play it. Im really lost here and i dont know what to do. Its my little brothers favorite game. I tried installing an update file to SD card and NAND i found but it wont work through tinfoil.
Any of you would be able to help me out on this ? I would be the happiest person on earth.

Can confirm that Minecraft story mode Complete Adventure does in fact work on firmware 3.0.

Did you get this to work already?

Well,
Im on 4.1 and dead cells doesnt work for me. Tried both .xci releases on sx OS.
Error when sx OS is trying to load the File.
Witch Version do u guys use? Or is it better with nsp?

Nswdb says its 5.0.2 and 5.1.0

Just want to make sure i'm going about this the correct way, as i don't want to make the game unplayable requiring an update, or loose my current save.

I'm currently on firmware version 3.0.1, playing Zelda BOTW Rev 1 as xci using SXOS. My goal is to install the first DLC: The Master Trials, as the firmware list says i can play it with my firmware.

Am i correct in thinking that all I need to do is install the DLC Pack 1 from an NSP file and I will be okay?

Look, I will state this once. This tread was for people that do play original games. Since I do not have a hacked Switch this list will only be for legit games.
I am sorry as I did not realize that I was off topic. I was only looking for a solution so that I do not end up accidentally update. I ended up buying a used Zelda game beginning of this year in hopes of it being an earlier version, but it turned out to be the latest release, requiring me to update. So I have no choice but to hack in order to keep my original firmware.

If you do not wish to hack your switch, then why does staying on a lower firmware matter to you?
