Sweet, everyone used to tell me I cannot install os-replacing cfw on 3ds.
How does this bypass os restriction chip you can find in many fake smart phones?

Because it doesn't replace the OS. They were right. The 3DS OS is still required to boot this one.

I tried it on my N3DS, but it just froze on "Uncompressing Linux...done, booting the kernel.", and both screens are just full of rainbow pixels (random data I guess). Does it only work on O3DS right now?
It might not work on Ninjhax 2.x, because I had the same result on my O3DS using HomeMenuHax.
@xerpi are you using Brahma or Brahma II?

Try pressing a key fast after loading the .3dsx (as you could see, after loading the Linux image it asks for pressing a key before jumping to the kernel), and I've never tried on the N3DS so it would be nice to know if works there.

I spammed the A button repeatedly after booting it, and yeah, it works on N3DS. Good stuff.

I've finally managed to get to the userspace and run a shell. It uses Brahma2 so it will only work on <=9.2 FW.
Here's the download (Linux + loader): http://www.mediafire.com/download/kjd88rh4o61q9v1/Linux+3DS+binaries.zip

Code:
Installation:
1) Copy the zImage and the nintendo3ds_ctr.dtb to the root of the SD card
2) Copy the 3ds folder to the root of the SD card
3) Run 3DS Linux Loader.3dsx with a Homebrew Launcher

Lol, just tried it. Most unusable keyboard ever :P
Nice work though. Is there anything we can do in that shell ? I tried nano and vim, none worked.

Depends on what shell it is. And what program is included.
Try echo

It's sh. And yeah, my implicit question was"what programs are included", so we know what we can and can't do.
And yeah, echo works, but you won't get far with that, especially with that keyboard :P
Now that I think of it, I'm glad vim didn't work either lol.

I'm hoping we can get a daisy wheel keyboard implemented for this eventually.

This is awesome, I can hardly believe it worked.
