Are you old enough to buy things online? Get sx os.

Otherwise, yeah, no surprise you'll be rooting for layeredfs.

Both methods of playing backups have major flaws, and I'm unlikely to use either one. LayeredFS currently has major compatibility issues, making many games unplayable. SX OS costs money and is currently incompatible with a whole subsection of cartridge types.

I'm am truly surprised that we don't have a bare-bones CFW with signature patches yet. Ignoring that it would be conducive to loading backups, I would not have predicted that we would be using LayeredFS and convoluted setups to load applications like DevMenu instead of installing them to and running them from the home menu.

Dude there are like 6 card type 2 games, everything else except L.A Noire and 1.2 switch with the eating game works

Yes, but that number is subject to change in the future. I also acknowledged that it's only a current incompatibility, so it's not necessarily forever. It's still a flaw.

I also forgot to point out the other game incompatibilities with SX OS, so it's definitely not a perfect backup-loader. It's definitely going to require a lot of continued support subject to delays.

Everything that is new requires feedback for improvements, their backup loader is not perfect but nothing is perfect, in 1.0 the loader was nearly perfect, if you want a perfect solution without any bugs you will never use anything, card 2 games supoort is coming, and 2 games dont work as expected ( few bugs) an update will fix them like every program ever made

If we had a CFW with signature patches, it probably wouldn't be long before we got to a near-perfect solution.

In the meantime, they're significant and noteworthy flaws.

yes significant!!!! 6/200 games dont work!!! we will die!!!!!!!!!!!! then comes 1.2 update with card 2, well those games are not that important but L.A Noire still doesnt work!!!!! significant error, but atmosphere gives error every 2 seconds, its okay is the near perfect solution!!!

I sure hope you're not playing Mario Tennis Aces using LayeredFS!

I dont need to play that atm, i want to not get nearly insta banned, when the update 1.2 with card 2 support, "well they are the same we must not compare layeredfs has its flaws it will get you nearly insta banned but it can also play card 2 games" lol!!!!!!

Yeah! Since you're old enough, how about you pay for legit games?
Ahh now you are getting into the not piracy train... buy your games!!!!! but layered is into the banning train atm.... just buy the games and dont hack!!! Dont copy that floppy :P

For gods sake the layered filesystem is a) not a backup loader it is b) an altered filesystem access which redirects reads of the read only memory filesystem (romfs) to the external storage to make it way easier to alter game content in terms of modifications/rom hacks/cheats whatsoever.
Also to quote Michael Scire:
SciresM's warning said:
Btw, I had assumed it went without saying -- if you're playing with unofficial builds of work in progress layeredfs stuff that is broken (and crashes frequently, consequentially), you shouldn't be anywhere near online and shouldn't even have online enabled. I use custom error codes for debugging, and if a report with one of those goes up to N's server from your console, you will almost certainly get banned from online. If you're concerned about that, don't use stuff until it's done.

It's being used as such, so your point?

Why are you even comparing? The SX OS is no doubt the best possible way to load backups. You don't need to mess with the XCI, it runs all games and you don't need a donor game.

And you can't play eShop games.

And you can't play eShop games.
And also with layered you cannot play online because you get banned!!

Well that is a perk of layered, because of those errors because of its super stability, will get you banned fast :P so its great for Nintendo :)

We need it in our banned heart to include Layered loading in our life :)

You mean that one single eshop game that BBB has dumped? I think I'll live not playing yooka laylee over having full compatibility with cart games and not need to mess with files :rofl2::rofl2:

Yeah as if you were safe using TX lol:D

Yes of course! How would you be interested? You can't have that.:P

SX OS's backup loader is vastly better then layered fs. Layerd Fs is super unstable and is a pain to setup compared to the 5min setup of SX OS with drag and drop. The only thing better about layered fs is that it supports cart 2 games but im sure that a update will drop within a week for cart 2 support on SX OS.
