Yeah I agree, the level of emotional maturity in all this is very low on all sides. I don’t care who did what, but how it has been handled shows very poor judgment on all this and very big sense of “entlitlement”!
When you found a exploit worth $200,000 you feel he shouldn't feel entitled to it?

Has there ever been a dev team that didn't have drama? Never seen it happen.
Just to name a few that I PERSONALLY NEVER SAW ANY DRAMA:

Dark_Alex
Virtuous Flame
Coldbird
Team_Twizzlers
Neur0n
Team C+D [Which include arounds 13 peoples]
DacoTaco
Crediar
and several several more....

On top of that, he probably was trying to save it more for future revisions instead of just about the money.
Of course, I was just saying, he should be entitled to the work he did, people complaining don't understand the amount of work that goes into finding a vulnerability like that.

1 - People saying she stole $200,000 from someone are a bit wrong unless they were going to give it to Nintendo.
2 - It isn't $200,000, it's "up to" $200,000
3 - Not keeping a secret is not stealing

I myself wouldn't give it to Nintendo for several reasons but then I'm not in that position so who knows what I'd do in that position, the money might change your mind at the time depending on the relationship you have with the person you got the bug from.
For all we know she was treated wrong and we don#t know about it...

Back in the days of the Wii, me and a friend gave Nintendo a few fixes to stop online cheating in the early days, they implemented fixes but didn't even reply to my emails to say thanks. Very ungrateful :/
So they never got anything else from us

No I’m not referring to his findings. No doubt the guy is very smart, what I’m referring to is his a sense of entitlement over the switch hacking scene as being the “voice of reason” the guy who the scene trust giving him a free pass to publically humiliate someone without disclosing the full story and censoring other dev opinions who are part of his own team.

No doubt I would be pissed if someone stole my shit and public disclosed it to a 3rd party for $ but if this is truly what went down (because a post on Twitter or discord is no proof whatsoever), there are ways of dealing with the matter privately before engaging in a full online humiliation (if ever) which actually carries a certain amount of risk to the person being accused. There are enough nut bags out there who could cause harm to someone like her with her pic and town location readily available for everyone to see on her Twitter. That’s my opinion anyway.

Not a team but you can add theFl0w to that list.
What that guy does for the Vita scene is incredible.
And with no fuss or anything.
What’s more he’ll set dates and either stick to them or release early as in case of h-encore.

Alright, there's a lot of stuff that's happened. Kate made what was probably a poor decision to use that bug as an example for the Pixel C, but she did not submit it to a bug bounty program, and never intended to betray or hurt anyone. SciresM publically denounced her, banned her, and made an official announcement on behalf of ReSwitched. This was not discussed with Kate beforehand, or even internally with the rest of the team. SciresM did not discuss Kate's actions with her before doing any of this. This could have been handled quietly and respectfully. SciresM could have said that there had been creative differences and that Kate was no longer affiliated with ReSwitched. He didn't. His decisions started vitriol, and he still hasn't communicated any actual details to Kate or the rest of the team. I find these actions reprehensible. I especially find it reprehensible that SciresM and other moderation staff have decided to censor discussion of these events.

I expect to be removed from the team following this message. This is fine. I no longer wish to support ReSwitched given these actions.
I would appreciate it if I were allowed to remain in the server, but we'll see what happens.

Summary: Kate used one of SciresM's bugs to demo a fault in the Pixel C, reporting it straight up with no bug bounty involved. The bug she used, she had already theorized about before SciresM discovered it, so he can't take all the credit.
She apologized to SciresM in a DM, but he ignored her and decided to issue the ban and the public announcement. He encouraged people in a slightly more out-of-sight announcement not to harass her. From what I can surmise, these issues could've been worked out between Kate and
SciresM in DMs, but he refused to take that direction, and instead of issuing an apology for a rash action, SciresM doubled down. This, in itself is not unforgivable. People on the internet make decisions and fuck up. What's really upsetting to me is what came after.

The ReSwitched Discord has become a fucking battleground between mods (ie. stuckpixel and a few others) and literal confused people, as well as people who disagree with both the ban and their moderation decisions. ALL channels got locked following the announcement and confusion,
and were not unlocked until a warning was given: Talk about drama; get banned. Zero Tolerance. Question a mute, kick, or ban of a user who just said something about ktemkin, one of the most known and discussed members of RS? You're banned as well. After every ban, a new wave of channel locks and warnings. It's worse to talk about this censorship/drama than it is to talk about Team Xecuter (which is a bannable rule as well btw).
Qyriad summed it up pretty damn well in a post that was promptly deleted by mods, and was then kicked from the discord. This post has been copy-pasted by some users, who were henceforth muted or banned for it. Here's a screenshot I got right before someone was muted:

(This^ was in #off-topic, a channel locked to all members except people vetted by mods after a long period. However, users outside the channel can still add reactions, hence the reactions.)
Suffice to say, RS mods are at maximum toxicity, and will tolerate no discussion, provide no answers, and will ban on sight for even the slightest thing.
