I just found a WIP Kodi port for the Switch on Github by a Team-Kodi Member velocity: https://github.com/VelocityRa/xbmc/tree/switch

I still wonder why this has not been brought up more frequently since Kodi pretty much does everything the community was asking for.
Don't expect a release date soon, it's very much a WIP.

FAQ:

Q: So what is Kodi? Sounds weird!
A: Kodi is an open-source media center, which is available for a lot of devices.

Q: What can it do?
A: It can play almost any media file on your device (which has been a much requested feature for the Switch btw). With the right Addons, you can also watch your favorite clips, series or movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube (and much, much more)!

Q: How can I help?
A: You can tell the developer that there is a big enough demand for a switch port (Forum link). If you're a Switch developer you can help directly with the development since it's on Github.

Q: ETA?
A: Soon™.

Gonna be honest I was expecting a dead repo with a readme update. This is actually some great effort toward a working implementation. Good job!!

Well, an official Kodi developer is working on it, so I wasn't expecting anything less professional. They said they're focused on working for the Retroplayer right now, but I guess once it's finished they'll spend more time on the Switch port.

I was involved in the original xbox media player development which is what turned into Kodi. I have it on every TV in my house and I've cut the cord to satellite. I cant wait for Kodi on Switch!

Holy shit.
Does this mean that we will now be able to have a full media center on the Switch?

And even better...
Netflix and Youtube without having to rely on Nintendo's servers?!
This will be a godsend for people that are already banned and got disappointed that the Youtube app checks against Nintendo's servers to work.

Although I have Kodi on my Shields I am fine with just Plex so haven’t looked at Kodi in awhile, anyone know if the Plex to Kodi Connect thing has been updated to support the Plex TV and DVR yet?

There are build instructions in that commit, no package instructions though, might give it a shot later. Will have to update my dev VM haven't fired it up in months.

Tried to compile and instructions are messy.
First - git clone have wrong site (it should be $ git clone -b switch https://github.com/VelocityRa/xbmc)
Second: $ make for /build folder doesn't work because of lacking any makefile or bootstrap to make one. So last part of building kodi lacks files. These files are done only to work for author, not for anybody else i think. << It may be my fault at something.

or maybe someone succeeds?

Netflix won't be that simple I think, it seems to require Chrome/Chromium so we would need a port of that as well. Which would be nice.
