"The Wii U version of Smash Bros. will be playable with GameCube controllers"
Nintendo is giving backwards compatibility for controllers that are two generations old and in no way designed to work with a console that works with entirely wireless controllers. Also this adapter connecting up to 4 controllers is a modest $19.99. On top of that, it's only for those of us blinded by nostalgia. Really the Wii60 pad would be fine for smash I imagine. There are options, no one is forced to buy it. That's a big difference compared to MS saying "Buy this or you're shit out of luck, oh and by the way it's $50"
You're absolutely out of your mind if you think that's similar to giving the Kinect an unconventional hookup when PC compatibility has been on the table since most likely before the kinect 2.0. They've been talking about it for ages. Even if it required this special hookup, and hey it may i'm no hardware engineer, the cost of the adapter should never in a million years be priced at $50. That's ludicrously overpriced. They're probably making almost 90% profit off of that thing.
If you look at some other things MS sells, you'd see what I mean. Most adapters microsoft sells are absurdly priced and not meant to be a convenience to the customer, but rather another way to nickel and dime some cash out of them. Funny enough i'm sure Nintendo has things like that too, you just happened to try be a smart ass about the absolute worst item they've sold.
Nintendo's GC controller adapter is basically a courtesy to all the veteran fans who have played the previous two generations of Smash on a GC controller. They could've charged $50 too and I guarantee it would've sold just as many units. I'm not on Nintendo's side too often these days but I think this is a DAMN fine gesture towards their older, dedicated fanbase.
This is a rhetorical question...but, do you even think before you post? It really seems like you don't. I wouldn't need to waste 5 minutes of my life typing this up if you'd just turn on the ol' brain of yours and not make an ass of yourself.
But hey at least when all you do is quote things, it's possible to understand what the fuck you're saying for once.
