Hello all, as you know Kid Icarus Uprising is coming out soon (March 23) and yet I have STILL not seen a hype thread. I mean come on guys, we were hyped about 3D land but not a crazy fast paced 3rd person shooter about an angel with guns and swords? So lets just talk about it here? Talk about the controls, story, gameplay, and info and other various things you like, hate or just wanta know about Kid Icarus Uprising.
UPDATE: HEY GUYS! Since everyone is so happy with the game and all, ill be hosting a Freeplay tournament. Ill be making a topic for it on Tuesday, but it will not begin till atleast the weekend, there you can sign up! More details will be in the topic. PM me if you got any questions

Medusa has been resurrected and is gathering the underworld forces of darkness to fulfill her ambition. You play as an angel named Pit who is bestowed the power of flight from Palutena, the Goddess of Light. Repel the Medusa's underworld army with your choice of an array of weapons like: Blades, Claws, Bow, Cannon, Mace, Staff and others that you will discover along your journey. Multiplayer mode allows for competitive gameplay locally or over a wireless Internet connection. Its time for Medusa to meet the power of light and only you can guide Pit to victory!

Gameplay:
Gameplay is composed of levels called chapters. Each chapter is split into 3 parts:
Flight, a sequence in which the player flys as pit to the location of the event of the level, This is a 5 minute on-the-rails shooting sequence.
Exploration, the actual level in which you are now guiding pit on the ground, When in this part your given full control of pit and where he goes. Your also able to explore the level and find chests which contain hearts or weapons for you to use and doors which lead to harder parts of the level or alternate paths.
Boss, In which you fight the actual boss of the level. This can be on land or in the air or both. (in the case of Hewdraw)
The game also feature local and Wi-fi multiplayer, in which is in two known formats.
The free for all, which as the name states is simply a free for all deathmatch in which all players fight one another, or the team match, in which players are split into teams of 3 and fight each other till one teams HP depleted. The last player to fall becomes the Angel. (Pit or Dark Pit depending on your team) The Angel is much stronger then the other players and so its the other teams job to kill the angel. First team to kill the others angel wins.

The game uses a simple to learn One-button system in which players use the Circle pad, CPP pad or A,B,X,Y buttons to move.
The touch screen to aim and use abilities. Theres also a no, stylus mode in which you aim with the circle pad and move with buttons.

Weapons and Abilities:
Weapons function in different ways depending on how close you are to your enemies, if they are charged or not (you can charge by not firing for a second) and the general way your moving and whether your dashing or walking in that way. Basic rapid fire shooting is walking while holding down your firing button, charged shooting is when you fire after a few moments (when your crosshair has a triangle frame) defencive shooting is when you fire a charged shot while dashing backwards, evasive shooting is when you fire while dashing to the left or right, and you melee when your enemies get too close. All your shots will also home in of the target to a certian extent depending on your weapon.
Your weapons are split into 8 types:
Blades, Which serve as good ranged and close up weapons (good for newbies) and have decent mobility.
Claws, Which make up for thier short range and weak shots with crazy fast melee and shooting also has the best speed for melee hit-and-runs.
Bows, Which serve as a good medium to long range weapon but has weak melee. However they have quick charge and good homeing.
Staves, are weapons which are great for long range but its lack of homeing like other weapons make it difficult to use on closer targets. It also deals more damage the farther it is.
Palms, Have awesome homeing abilities and are very light, giving you awesome moblity, however they arent the strongest and tend to take longer to charge.
Arms, Which are good at melee and close up attacks but they lack range and slow you down..
Cannons, Are tricky to aim since they are affected by gravity, but they also use explosive shells which deal radius damage.
Orbitars, Allow you to fire two shots at once making them good for hitting enemies with double the damage or taking out more then one. They are also the lightest class of weapon in the game (they freakin float around you.)
Clubs, Are VERY VERY heavy and slow pit down alot and they have poor range but the melee is DEVASTAING! And they have one of the longest melee ranges then any other weapon, Plus they are able to deflect enemy projectiles
Abilities are very versitial and seem to make up for areas certian weapons are weaker, ill list what I got so far.
Energy Charge, lets you build up energy and increase your attack power. Taking damage nullifies this effect.
Bumblebee, lets you dodge attacks by vanishing and instantly circling the enemy. They won't know what hit 'em!
Eggplant attack, Produces an elemental attack that damages your enemies and turns them into eggplants.
Health Recovery, Restores a little of Pit's health.
Mega Laser (AKA that power which is probally gonna be in EVERYONES ability set),Unleash a powerful beam that flies straight and true.
Explosive Flame,Produce an enormous and damaging explosion
Meteor Shower, Brings a bunch of hefty meteorites down upon your enemies.
Angelic Missile, Turn into a missile and launch yourself towards the enemy.
Sky Jump, Perform a standing jump that reaches a great height.
Super Speed, Run at such an enormous speed that you smash enemies out of the way.
