Basically.
Though I will say not to expect it to play out exactly like the core series. I've still yet to actually get deep into Legends but the battles are much harder. It seems like levels don't have the exact same level of significance, and something ten levels lower can still smash you with a headbutt or something. I guess to that end, make sure you're always stocked on revives and potions.

don't get killed (er black out XD) seeing as Pokemon can murder you more or less also go back to bagin (security corps npc by the stairs (1F) in HQ he's accessable after your first official mission not your entry mission) to increase your sachet size (even if it gets rather expensive over time) also pick up crafting material in the field and use your crafting kit often so you don't run out of items mid excursion
