Hacking Just got the G6 Lite... NEED HELP!

with the chinese only loader, you can display the roms with :
- the file name for exemple : "new mario.nds"
- the chinese name, but you can rename it into english name with the pc software
you can choose it with the chinese menu... but the menu is in chinese

Thanks for confirming that. It has made my decision much easier. I'm going to go ahead and get the Chinese version and if things get really difficult later on with updates I'll flog it or give it away and get the English 8Gb one since that'll probably be out by then.

I'm a little dissapointed not to be getting the black case though :'(

I think I got the test version then, its really fully english and updated it twice with english update files

Surely it can't be too hard to hack the firmware of the Chinese version so it's in English?

Exactly, it shouldnt be that hard for some hacker to change the main feature buttons into english, or for even the G6 team to do this their selves so that we can navigate the menu a little easier.

This english/chinese thing is crazy. The only reason they would not provide an english firmware to the Chinese G6 is because they intend to sell a more expensive english version!
It's completely true that it's possible for them to release an english firmware. And yes some developper could always hack the chinese loader so that it accepts english loaders.

does anyone have the problem of the g6 lite locking up whenever u try to update it? a 7 and a 1 come on the screen and it locks with whatever version of the loaders i use it dont matter

this screen is what comes up and locks at

I'm not sure, but I think you're supposed to press A+B+Start+Select when you see the green text
