Got my PSP Slim today. Star Wars Battlefront pack. I thought it was suppose to be 3.60 but it's 3.71...

Can I still do the Custom Firmware trick on this 3.71 PSP? Please say yes... :'(

Well, it depends on what method of downgrading you would wanna use.
Pandora is completely independent of your current firmware, BUT you need another PSP homebrew enabled PSP to create the Memory stick and the Jigkick battery.

Congrats on your new handheld BTW.

I'm not sure if the Lumines downgrade works with 3.71, I think it doesn't.

I can use my friend Matt's PSP if need be. I put Custom Firmware on his a long while ago, but his is a fat. None of this Pandora battery confusion...

Then you are set my friend, I'll look a couple of tutorials to help you when I get home. The process is really easy, you'll have to borrow his battery for a few minutes to convert it, do your PSP and then set the battery back to normal.

the only thing that sucks about the slim is that a lot of the homebrew requires firmware emulation, like back before they had custom firmwares and everyone had to use 1.5

a lot of homebrew is being converted, though.

You can't use anything BUT Pandora on a Slim.

True. And you won't be able to run 1.5 kernel on it. "random comment"

Okay, I found someone who already has a Pandora Battery to use! Only a 20 minute drive away, awesome.

But he says he has no experience with Slims...could someone link me to the most simple to understand tutorial if you already have the Pandora?

That still works even with a different one?
I am so tired and out of it, I figured that was absolutely only if you had to make your own...and now I feel pretty damn stupid.

**Edit: Okay Mr. "I have a Pandora Battery" is acting like he knows everything, considering his only attempt was a failure. I'm just gonna buy a Datel Tool Battery next week...

Why don't you just get a second hand sony battery for cheap and hardmod it yourself. Trust me, even a n00b like me could do it without any major problems, I'm sure you can do an even better job. I got a battery for like 15 bucks[you can find it even cheaper] and modding will take only 15-20 mins.

If you don't want to go through with the trouble, Datel is a good choice though.

I prefer hassle free over anything, and $10 more for Hassle free works just fine to me. Is there anything I need to know ahead of time if I go the Tool Battery route? Main one being do I still need to make the Magic Memory Stick I keep hearing about? And if yes, can you format it to make it a normal one again afterwords?
