I just got the following phat 360:

- Jasper 512mb
- BenQ DVD drive
- RGH 1.2 + LT3 Installed
- Matrix V3 Chip

It did not come with a hard drive, but another system (a Zephyr, I think) I got for free (and it actually works), came with a 120gb Microsoft hard drive, which I wanna use for my RGH console (I have a spare 250gb sata 2.5" drive lying around I can use).

What are some good tutorials to get me started? I know I will need XeX Menu, and FSD, but what else? I don't care for emus or original Xbox (I have my 2TB modded Xbox with X3 + LCD for that) , but XBLA and retail games.

Thanks a lot!

P. S. What are my options on full case replacements for the phat 360 console? I wouldn't mind something with LED's.

Aurora is for the pirate (it's centred around game backup) and FSD is for the power user, more settings n what not.

You could also convert all games to GOD games and copy them with 360 content manager and use the official dash.
But that's up to you.

Personally, I pick FSD.
Far more options then Aurora.

Yup true that FSD is more customisable. I installed FSD at first, then switched to Aurora, and found it more pleasant to use and also resolved some issues I was having loading games. (I kept the FSD plugin however for temps on guide button)

Should mention that FSD is just as stable as Aurora and any loading issues I had were more than likely down to me making a mistake somewhere.

I find I have more than enough customisation options with Dashlaunch+Aurora but I can see how it might be too simplistic for some

Aurora is still supported and everything works out of the box though. - Lets be serious, if you RGH or JTAG. You want either home-brew or backups. Cover art works on Aurora where by I could never get it to work on FSD because it had been discontinued.

I still get covers on FSD, no prob.
Only thing that isn't working anymore is TU downloading (got 360 content manager and Xbox unity for it) and the weather API.

FSD works better imho, but eh, each to their own.
I got Aurora installed on a 512 MB MU for testing purposes.
Could set it up as a beta/debug build centered dash but eh.

Haha, best advice is to try both and see which you like best then. Guess it's like asking whether Android or iOS is better.

Got Aurora connected directly to Xbox Unity for TUs which is great, as is the ability to download more than one and switch freely between them.

Good idea mate, I have two RGH xbox's one is indeed FSD and one is Aurora; and to he honest, I do use my Aurora more. Themes are much nicer I think. This is what I've always used and never had a need to change it: http://photobucket.com/gallery/user...S1iZy0yNi1zdGFja196cHN4eXVjYXFpMC5qcGc=/?ref=

Change out the outdated Dashlaunch with the latest one that supports your dashboard (3.17 or 3.18 is the latest) and try this launch file instead.
You can load it from a USB drive.

In dashlaunch, load up the launch.ini and save it with the X button I believe to the NAND and HDD.

Latest is 3.18.2 I believe. 3.18 had a critical bug so it had to be patched. I think it was soft-bricking consoles.

Edit: Be patient when you choose HDD1, sometimes it takes 20 seconds or so to access the drive in DL.

I need to update the ISO again yep.
But since you can just copy things in a content folder on a FAT32 usb drive, I'm thinking of just maintaining a USB folder for it.
No more need for discs.
The disc actually helps to get into XeXmenu, then I can just copy everything from USB - unless there is a way to do it all without a disc.

Is there a waycin FSD to add a seoarate category for indie games?
