No news from a loooooooooong time now: time to put my Gateway on eBay?

Thanks for your attention.

The moment 3ds.guide happened Gateway died completely.
Before that (when we had CFW but no 'holy guide') it had some chance due to being 'easier' to install, due to being better explained.

It's very typical for Gateway to miss their release predictions by months. I'm saying this as a customer who's followed them since day 1.

It will come out. I just don't have an idea what "it" is and whether or not it's worthwhile. Their a9lh implementation leaves reason for concern.

They usually takes a lot of time to upload. But with CFW guide up,i don't think it's the best option. I think you should put your Gateway to sell only if you need more money at the moment. (Or you could sell it now, since 3ds.guide is more practical)

It's not 100% dead, some people still use it for cheats and as a CFW.
Though as a CFW, it's considered heavily outdated and unsecure (No a9lh firm prot.) by the community compared to an open-sourced project such as Luma.

That being said, I'll buy it from you for €5 :P

They are in the limbo right now, it sounds spooky doesnt it?

Just sell it if you need quick cash.

these kind of posts are with no purpose than to start a flame wars, gateway team suck at delivering in time, but they do, their cfw for me is better than luma just because of the cheat implementation and 3ds files support, im still in 11.2 using ctrhttpwn so no biggie in reality

What's really stupid of them is to delay the 11.3/4 fixes until after their big feature release. Losing current customers while trying to maybe earn new ones in the future is irrational.

Well im using gateway and a9lh. Im also cautious on using both. Reading and understanding every guide, tutorials and warnings. So i would say if you already had it keep it. If you dont no reason to buy it atleast for now, gateway are way behind a9lh.

You can run both a free CFW with Gateway without any problems. The only real problem is when you update to the latest OFW and your Gateway stops working

Gateway itself is dead but it has a decent cheat system, however that still doesn't make up for the cost of the flashcard, and the danger of it removing a9lh on sysnand mode which limits gateway to a emunand only currently.Lots of people still have one from back when they where relevant and try to make use of it which is completely understandable but they shouldn't try to promote the card to noobs.

According to most people yes. But there are some like me who have reasons to prefer it over Luma still.

But to reply more to your question, by checking their site you can see an update with something new is planned along with the typical updated firmware support. Up to you if you want to continue with Gateway or not though as nobody can really tell when it will release.

I think it's incredibly irresponsible of them to not post an update or warning letting their users know they'll lose a9lh if they attempt to boot 11.4 in sysNAND Gateway Mode.

Edit: Okay, I just noticed they'd updated their post about not supporting 11.3 post from Febuary to include 11.4. Still not good enough though.

I mean we've always known that they didn't offer firm protection. But up until now attempting to boot into Gateway Mode on an unsupported firmware resulted in a black screen, forcing us to either restore a NAND backup or wait for a launcher.dat update.

This is the first time we've seen the consequences of them not having firm protection. As a long time owner but infrequent user of their product, I'm pretty disappointed they haven't released an 11.3/11.4 update.

I'd be really fucking unhappy if I'd attempted to boot into Gateway Mode on 11.4, only to discover I'd lost a9lh and was stranded on an unhackable firmware.

I doubt it, but i do not know how much innovation we can actually expect from them at this point.
