If I wanted to bring mine back to life how would I?

Did the software get any better? Which one do I use?

Loading up just now I got "battery is dry or first in"

Still has mother 3

Okay so after messing with it, it seems like everything I loaded on last time is still there but some type of corruption has happened and it won't make new saves. Maybe they're one in the same?

"battery is dry or first in" is an error message telling you the coin cell battery on the board is out of power. That battery is used to power the SRAM chip which holds the savegame of the last played title.

I assume this is an older white EZFlash IV model?

Either way, the first thing you need to do, is replace that battery by desoldering it and soldering in a new one (tabbed batteries can be found on ebay for a few bucks)

Second, it looks like your sd card has suffered corruption - could be an interrupted write or it could just have died of old age. I recommend taking it out, putting it in a computer and run a disk check on it to solve any errors and copy everything from the card to your PC. Once everything has copied over, do a fresh format on the card and copy everything back onto it or maybe even use a different SD card.

Third, you might want to look into upgrading your card to an up to date kernel (2.05) - depending on the sd card you're currently using, this might require you to get a new SD card though as the newer kernels have become incompatible with non-sdhc cards.
Also, this might require you to get new copies of your ROMs. If you're on an older kernel, your roms might have been patched using the EZFlash PC Client - newer kernels require the ROMs to be completely unpatched/clean (the card will handle this at runtime!)
Make sure you read up on what's changed and what you need to be aware of before upgrading.

It IS the white model and I think I'll need a new ad card anyway because this is a.mini adapter

My roommate is going to nab an SD card today and she said she has 4 of the same battery so the only question now is where can I get all the soft ware since I no longer have any like the ez flash software and the gbaatm

So, new card and mini adapter. Just need to format and learn to use GBAATM again and play with the new firmware. Will update how it goes

I think the EZ4 got updated with the same on-the-fly patching (no ezclient needed anymore) as the EZFlash Omega has. Also, SDHC support.
If you use the soft reset combo to reset back to the EZ4 menu after playing a game it should be able to write the save despite the battery being dead. Just have to remember to do that every time, the save in SRAM is lost when you power off.

Okay that's not too big of a change I just don't really remember how I went about messing with easy flash Forward and game boy advance Auto trainer maker on the firmware and all that so I've got pieces of it I need to redo I mean as of now of course because it has been formatted the SD card and the cartridges are just black when I load them up in the game boy but I can't work it any of it till I'm off work because I work on a VM.


So update, formatted SD to Fat32 then dropped the new kernel on there or is it firmware? Either way its ezfla_up.bin onto the card, popped the adapter in then the mini then turned it on and held down R and I get a black screen. Just to clarify is it hold R from power on/logo or black screen?
