I just got my 3DS yesterday after having a DS Lite for ages and experimenting with the DSi XL. I do prefer the 3DS despite the smaller screen size. I had also bought a DSTWO and got it up and running with the DS Lite/XL just fine and updated it to run on the 3DS. Works great. Obviously there is still a lot of speculation going on regarding what will actually happen to the system after the update early next month. Most seem to think there won't be any bricking or, at most, some sort of online feature restriction. So here's my question, if I could care less about taking the system online. Couldn't I just leave the wifi off on the system until more is known about the issue once the update comes out? Skip the update all together if everything is working fine right now the way I like it? In addition, I'm also curious if anybody has any thoughts as to whether or not certain games might require an updated system to play. I know there were several games that had come out for the Wii and if you didn't run the latest system updates prior to trying to run the game the system would not allow you to play until you updated the console. Thoughts? I'm new to the forum and flash carts in general so please excuse my noobness.
