Homebrew JK save manager

I'm trying to use this save manager over svdt cause I hear its better, but it won't let me take a save from a cart and move it to my cia? What am I doing wrong? It says error opening save archive.. I have exported a save from the cartridge but can't import it to the cia

Boot up the CIA version so it can initialise the save data

You have to boot up the game atleast once so you can actually make a save to overwrite.
