Hacking jailbreak ps3 4.84..help!!!

I have tried to help a friend jailbreaking his ps3 (CECH-25xxB) that is on 4.84 ofw...with the latest starbuged cfw and also tried the latest ferrox...but no luck..started to update, and it cancelled due to an error at 70% with both cfw..is it that the console Is on 4.84..or can it be some error in BOTH cfw? or a bad usb??

Please give me some help with this

Some 2500 models can’t have CFW installed and could brick if you write to the nor. Check with the min firmware version pup to see what version you can downgrade to. If it is above 3.56 (metldr v2) you can’t. Correct me if this has changed since but I don’t think this has. If you have been able to go through all steps and you’re solely trying to change the CFW. Try your install via recovery

What min version did the pup give you. Your options depends on what the result is

If the min version is 3.56 or lower you can jailbreak it, but first you must install the hybrid firmware to remove the exploit patch. If the console is already on OFW 4.84 start it in recovery mode and update the firmware to HFW 4.84. Then just use your standard JB instructions since it’s so simple now.

If the min version is above 3.56 you can do a partial jailbreak using the HFW and ps3hen which will allow downloaded games. Just never open factory service mode or you will brick the console.
