Hacking Its my friend's Flashcard fake?

Hey my acekard is different from my friend's (i know they have newer one with smaller sst chip package but look at bottom right) it's weird how it's different. He ordered it from nds-card

I'm not familiar with the brand, so no comment on the pics, but if it's from nds card, then he got the card he ordered.

That doesn't mean it's not a clone, it if ordered a clone. If he ordered a legit card, then it's legit.

Well i added my flashcard pics on the main post and has you can see it has some diferences

My best guess is it's a 1:1 hardware clone / reproduction cart since acekard team isn't making these anymore

My AK2i PCB is also black, which means you may have a HW81 Ak2i model.

Well no I am not taking my flashcart apart, but I know it is the same model because it's black above the pins just like that PCB above, even the pins look exactly the same. Pro tip, AKAIO 1.9.0 will NOT work on clone carts, so if it works on your flashcart then you have the real deal.

Never heard of a "1:1 clone" of the AK2i, I have some doubts.

ones getting sold these days are 1:1 clones which are pretty much like reproduction carts i think? i remember seeing a post where it's said that the flashcart design is actually sold to sellers? or manufacturers of flashcarts. either that or they're reverse engineered

I just received one from nds card and it’s dead on arrival. It doesn’t show upon my 3ds screen and causes the system to lock up after 10-15 seconds. My original AK2i from 10yrs ago still works just fine. >.<

Yeah, it causes my n3ds xl to lock up 10 seconds after inserting it.

My original AK2i from 2008 functions flawlessly. I swapped the micro sd card into the ‘18 AK2i and it still locks up the system.

We are emailing back and forth and he thinks it’s because I have 11.6 luma, however, ‘08 works fine and I did see Pippa Funnel icon briefly before it locked up again this last time. The ‘08 DORASU still works like a charm. I mainly wanted another AK2i because I like AKAIO and wanted to have one Incase the original failed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

try cleaning the contacts of it hm its either that or it has a problem with its contacts or something. other time i got my 2ds to lock up cause of a cart it was a bad firmware flash :/ (on the cart)

Well the ‘18 AK2i is clean as a whistle and this n3ds has only had one cart ever put in it (you guessed it- the ‘08 AK2i which is clean) so the board is likely clean too esp since the ‘08 AK2i works flawlessly.


So I decided to dump the good AK2i ‘08 and inject it into the “bad” ‘18 AK2i using ntrboot tool from luma chainloader menu.

Both are recognized as HW-81.

It successfully restored and wrote the ‘08 flash on the ‘18 (man that was a lot of “chunks”!).

However the issue remains
