Hello all
I have some problems with my switch using hekate. Everything i try to do with hekate that involves the direct access of the SD card does not work or looks strange. For example, i used to mount the sd card from hekate 'cause it's boring to pull it out. Suddently, the sd card stopped to work (the pc could open it but didn't work fine and the switch was veeeery slow, and sometimes he stuck at boot on the switch logo) and i was forced to buy a new sd card. Now, if i try to mount that new one sd through hekate everything works fine but the switch seems to slow down for two or three boots. The main problem that now i'm facing is that hekate does also not do nand backups. When i try to do a wathever backup of something he stucks on "cheking for avaiable free space" and does nothing. Hekate, anyway, boots fine in nyx GUI and the switch works more or less normally (also with games installed on sd).
My questions are:
1) Is there another method to do a full NAND backup? Maybe through PC
2) Which could be the problem? I tried to change sd, update hekate with the latest version... I was supposing an sd card reader problem, but it does not makes sense if the switch works fine.

Sorry for my bad english and thanks in advance for the help

yes, you can boot Hekate and plug your Switch into you PC and use NXNandManager to backup your Sysnand or Emunand. You will also find Emutool to be useful if you are going to be messing around with nand data.

the card reader isn’t that expensive to replace. Check the ratings and reviews on Amazon. It’s cheap, quick and easy.

Thanks! Only a question. In your opinion it could be the sd card reader? Can it corrupt an SD CARD?

Might want to check that SD card first before even buying a SD card reader.

Hi all, i'm sorry if i write after a month but i supposed is useless create another thread for the same issue. I tested my sdcard with h2testw and everything is ok, also i bought a new sd card reader and changed it. It worked for a while but then same problems, i have lot of slowdowns in the home menu and hekate works strange

Does the card work well w/ OFW? Do you have legit purchased eshop games you can test with?

I still think the new SDCard reader is a cheap and quick replacement that can eliminate the SDCard reader as a problem. If it’s not the SDCard reader, you will have one on hand for when it eventually IS the SDCard reader in the future (and it will fail) so it’s not a total waste of money.

thanks for the answer, i convinced myself that was the sdcard reader 'cause before changing it while i was playing the switch got freezed and then atmosphere gave a fatal error (it couldn't read the sd card), same hekate ecc. Then started to work again but i replaced the sd card reader supposing that was it, but yesterday i put the sdcard into the pc for do some things and boom, the switch was again very slow. After a bit it came back to normality but it's strange. Unfortunately i can't test with a legit purchased game from eshop 'cause i did a factory reset of the switch for a problem and i got banned, so i can't download it again. Maybe the sd card is just full?

Which SDCard reader did you buy? Just curious.

How are you formatting your SDCard? FAT32 or exfat?

That SDCard reader appears to be good.

FAT32 is perfect.

Please go to Hakate -> Console Info -> micro SD

Allow it to finish acquiring FAT volume information and then take a screenshot:

Then do a Benchmark and take another screenshot:

I typically get 90/10/10 MiB/s (+/- 10%)

Thanks for reply, here the screenshots
