So I'm having a really diffuiclt time potsint as a new user - I've tried to post on a few threads and can't because it's telling me my post contains links (they don't) or banned keywords. I have scrubbed my posts trying to remove anything the could even remotely be considered a "banned keyword" but I'm still having issues posting.

banned keywords
That's new.

I honestly didn't knew the temp has this, which is strange considering how some of us call us names.

Anyway, @Karlore you need to rank from "Newbie" to "Member" to be able to post links and stuff.

Also, it'd be wise if you screenshot your post so Admins can look at exactly which words are preventing you from posting. A screenshot would be wiser since you won't be able to post containing such words, and I'm assuming typing the here will bring the same results.

Anti-spam has to search for phone numbers as "keywords" as well as words /phrases often used for spamming -- preferably such not likely to be used by new real users to prevent false positives.
Of course the actual filter list of words and/or regex must stay secret so the filter won't tell you what triggered detection. Spammers must not get hints how to get past filters.

Constant spam attacks on the site are a big problem. Countermeasures are needed, but blocking legitimate users is an unfortunate side-effect. The limitations should be removed after a few more posts from you

Good luck and have fun!

Unrelated to this special topic: I've noticed virtually anybody posting a problem in Site Discussions gets their thread downvoted. What's the point? Why are people downvoting simple questions or help requests?
With a bit of fantasy the voting feature might be usable on suggestions (though most suggestions get downvoted even more) but for questions and help requests it make no sense to click on "⬇️"

does anyone have a banned keyword list? I'm trying to make a simple reply with 0 links at all and its refusing me

It appears that the platform's automatic filters may be mislabeling your posts. Try rewording your content to avoid any words or phrases that could be misinterpreted as prohibited keywords. If the issue persists, contact support, who can help troubleshoot the specific issue or get your account verified.

Been having the same issue. I'm not posting any spam. Even saying "thank you" to someone and completely innocent stuff like that gets flagged. It'll be a miracle if I'm allowed to even post this reply.

after replying to a couple threads I think what's going on is that it's not just your own posts that can flag you in the spam filter but the posts that you're responding to as well. On that basis, it's probably best to engage in more light-hearted conversations until we level up enough. I totally understand why the measure is taken and it's not so bad to engage innocently with fun modding communities anyways. It's just a shame it has to be this way.

Best of luck to all the newbies! <3

I'm both glad and a little bit disappointed to learn this issue is common, was worried for a second when my reply refused (and still refuses) to be posted
