Hacking .iso and wfbs sp?

So I'm homebrewing my wii this weekend. Out of everything I've modded this seems the most complex (needing outside storageaside from sd, several apps and ling processes to play backups) anyway i guess you have to convert files to wfbs? Before playing them with a pc program (i use mac, my pc iis basically only for my snes classic hakchi) is it possible to do on mac? Also what does dx2 cios do? I can only find instructions on install and everyone seems to have it but idk what it does...even the explanation on here seems vague.

i dont know if there is dolphin for mac but on windows you can play with isos. cios is what lets you play wii backups with usb loader on a real wii. and to play on wii you need to convert iso to wbfs

Okay, now on a mac how do i convert iso to wbfs? Also whats a wad? Lol sorry
