Hey there,

I have fallen in love with my 3DS XL and I am a hoarder, so I'm using a 1tb microsd card.
Sadly that causes 80s of waiting multiple times for starting up, loading settings/twilight menu/emulator/game...

It's exhausting.😭

I love the device so much, is there any way to work around this issue?

Is there a hardware mod that installs a proper storage controller, or maybe something using the game card slot.

Anything?

Thank you very much.

Edit: CIAs aren't an issue and reducing the Partition size or content defeat the purpose of having a large sdcard.

Assuming it uses a 32 or 64 kb cluster size, you might go nuts further and reformat with a really huge cluster size. 512kb could be a good start.
Be warned that your data is at risk with those untested cluster sizes. Also, it's a bit less space-efficient as any small file will fill an entire cluster.

If the issue is the amount of content installed and not the size of the SD card itself, maybe consider uninstalling content and just keeping the CIAs on the card, installing and uninstalling as needed.
