Hacking Is there any way to change game IDs on a Mac?

The recent crop of games that have to be patched before working on my aging R4 with Wood is increasing and the game IDs change after patching. I want to use cheats on these games but since the ID has changed, the usrcheat.dat doesnt work anymore...

How do I change game IDs on a Mac?

It would be much easier to modify the usrcheat. Besides, why used patched ROMs at all? Wood R4 usually gets game fixing updates every two or three weeks.

The recent Tales of Innocence translation patch wouldnt be cheatable (i think) and i read that it needs a proper game ID change to run perfectly (my game freezes around 10 minutes in).

also Dragon Quest IX still doesnt work clean (at least for me on Wood R4 1.11) so I have to use the patch which breaks the cheats.

99% of the cheats for TOI works
i had removed those nonworking one based on user feedback

the remaining 1% would be those that people didn't mention
