Like a hardware upscaler for HDMI devices.

Does the mClassic do that?

Apparently if I want to use my AR glasses with the PS3 I'd need a way to give it a stable 1080p signal or it'll start wreaking havoc on the video out.

A way to do it would be to use component cables to output 480p then use a gbs-c or retrotink 5x to upscale to 1080p.

It should be easier with the retrotink 4k that has hdmi input and you can impt hdmi all resolutions and out put 1080p
