Hey,

I have heard rumours over time about free .info domain names. Is there like a secret website or something that gives you free domains name. Does not have to be .info...

If not, is there any cheap domain websites where you can pay via surfpin or paymemobile or something?

Thanks.

No, You cannot get a free domain name.
Anything that is www.your-name.*** has to be paid for.
Otherwise you have to settle for a sub-domain which do not get good results on search engines.
you can get www.your-name.co.nr for free

Yes, there are several domain endings which are free.
However, inorder to get a primary one (.com, .net, .org, .info), there needs to be some form of payment due to the ICANN fees.

I would also mention that if your site takes off then an originally free domain name will likely cause you all sorts of troubles and it is the same idea with a lot of the uber cheap domain registering companies or those that bundle it as part of hosting- as long as you are paying them then it is all good but want to change and it will become a nightmare.

Personally I would get a subdomain with some of the dynamic DNS type people (there are a couple of them) if you do not want to kick over an IP number to people.
