im playing pkm legends za and shiny hunting used this method of walking foward and backwards or even flying to one spot repeatedly. i wanted to know if there are controllers that can do this not only do i want it to press multiple buttons in a pattern but also be able to move my character in prerecorded motions. yes i know turbo exists but the ones i found only spam one button and its not what im looking for. im not sure what the term is for what im looking for or if there are even controllers that can do this. please lmk if there ate controller that can do this or they don’t exist

According to my fuzzy memory and backed up by ai, the 8bit do ultimate controller should do what you want.

But check it out first, don't just take my word for it.

(by the way the term for what you want to achieve is a "macro")

thank you ive checked it out but from all the reviews from it i havent seen it do what i need it to do its a turbo controller that only spams one button and i need to be able to create like sequences that will play and repeat until i can stop it. thank you for your help anyways if i dont end up finding one that fits my needs ill prob just cut my losses and go with that one it still serves a part of what i need it to plus its not that expensive

Gullikit Kink kong line can record and playback (different types have different recording lengths if i remember correctly), 8bitdo is more programmable (with pc software).

The switch up game enhancer will 100% do it as soon as a routine for Z-A is published for it. That’s exactly what it was made for.

Austin John Plays made a review of it, and I’ve used one to afk for shiny eggs in Sword and Shield to great effect before I hacked my Switch 1.

Edit: sys-bot base is brilliant at what it does but routines, when written for Z-A will be very limited due to forced auto-saving. AFK shiny hunting should be possible but anything requiring a soft reset will likely need further thought. Might be possible through a layered fs mod to remove auto save.

What you are looking for are macro's
I have 3-4 Nintendo switch tools made and shared on GitHub to do this exact thing

Some require CFW and others use an Arduino Leonardo

There should also be GBATemp threads for them

If you and anyone shares resources with me to learn these spots and the inputs required I can make and share the macros

I stopped making public ones because I was the only one using them for a long time

would def buy but its all sold out and im not paying anymore than its original price

8BitDo Pro 2 is an AMAZING controller and yes, you can program macros into multiple profiles stored on the controller. It has a macro editor so you can even fine tune the ms delay between press/release/combos after you record the motion.

Do they have any models with the offset joystick design ? Like the switch pro controller uses that has this same feature ?

Here are some resources if anyone wants to make a macro on their own

This method supports both vanilla unmodded systems. If anyone is willing to help map out joystick directions I am happy to make a website GUI to create a ready to use arduino script

The joystick directions are fucking me up tho ngl

https://github.com/ItsDeidara/NintendoSwitchControlLibrary

I wrote a basic guide on it as well: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintend...troller-macros-using-arduino-leonardo.623729/

Otherwise I also have this for systems with CFW

https://github.com/ItsDeidara/Macros-NX

These are the two most mature solutions to the best of my knowledge. Without spending money on an 8bitto controller. If anyone knows of anything else I’d love to learn

A compatible Arduino is $15 max
