Hardware is the i7 8705G overclockable?

i am thinking of purchasing the hades canyon nuc with the 8705g i would like to know if i can overclock

it was on some dell forum i think. google really doesnt help. but it would make more sense if it was the other way around

That's really what I was thinking, I'd imagine that the Vega graphics could probably be taken up using Afterburner or Trixx, but I've yet to see any documentation saying the CPU is overclockable. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, I just haven't personally seen any

the form factor can support a 100w processor just fine. im thinking if i get the 65w version i could have more headroom

Update: I bought the PC and the cpu is overclockable to what extent I don’t know and I have not yet tested the graphics

have you been doing well overclocking it? I just bought one I have 1tb sn 850x and 24 GB of 2666mhz Samsung (16), Hynix (8) with a razor core x housing a EVGA 2070 super put in. I got ~60 fps on GTA V in 1440p but I was seeing if I could overclock it and what your luck was? I redid all the thermal paste with thermal grizzly and have insanely low temps (my last PC build was from 2013 amd 6300-fx and rtx 760) so I'm used to 72°-86°c being norm. so I'm barely even seeing it hit 72°c under a full load. sits at 42°c mostly. it was originally rated 65°-80°c so I feel like I have 8°c to work with. the Vega m GL is barely at 52°c full load. maybe installing steamos on a Linux build will fully utilize the GPU because I hear the driver is open source and fully updated so it'll add some new features maybe?
