At some point will the Switch be able to....
  1. Play all NES games.
  2. Play all SNES games.
  3. Play a few N64 games.
  4. Play all GCN games.
  5. Play all Wii games.
  6. Play all Wii U games.
  7. Play all Genesis games.
  8. Play all Sega CD games.
  9. Play all GB games.
  10. Play all GBC games.
  11. Play all GBA games.
  12. Play most DS games.
Who knows? But one thing for certain the Wii U will never play Switch games. Ironically one could argue (almost) every high-profile Wii U game is (or will be) on the Switch. Let's hear some Mario Maker and Splatoon 1 love!
Also PSX emulation is already pretty on point with a slight overclock perfect for most rpgs

Definitely worth the upgrade I'd say. They both have a lot of options, but I personally own every major exploitable console and the switch is my favorite by far. Varied emulators, Retroarchs customization is amazing, and more and more great games/emulator/homebrew will be coming out. It's not hard stuff but getting into it now makes it easy for later :) Plus a lot of great options are out there for playing online banned, changing themes and layouts (still early in but works great, but a little finicky sometimes), and them clicky noises

The best way to look at the Switch is as a mobile Nintendo and indie console. Indie titles these days are often better than first party titles and this is why I love the Switch, because I get to play them on the go. I've currently got 80 games on my SD card and have just had to buy another as there are games released every other day for it. I personally think it was a stroke of genius for Nintendo to nab the indie market as the library is vast.

It's not a matter of an opinion, it's a matter of pure facts.
WiiU is still far superior when it comes to it's library. For crying out loud, most of the Switch big hitters are rereleases from WiiU. Claiming otherwise is simply foolish. And if ''unlocked'', WiiU is the machine you want. You get almost every retro game available.

You don't seem to know what a fact and an opinion is.

But I agree with your opinion (sorry, that's what it is no matter what you think) that Wii U is great.

However Wii U is done so any new game will be on the Switch and you'll miss out without a purchase of one.

Yes WiiU life cycle is over. And I have the ability to distinguish between facts and opinions.
WiiU has better games than Switch. If you take away WiiU rereleases on Switch you don't have much AAA games left do you?
I'm not counting indies because I have no interest in them 99.9% of the time.
Also, if you count in the fact that WiiU is easily hackable into a perfect retro gaming console just makes it so much more attractive.

See right there, you threw in that you don't care about indies. That's your opinion and quite frankly no one cares.

How did you come to the conclusion that with the exclusion of the indies this suddenly becomes an opinion? That's some next level deductive reasoning lol.
I gave you hard facts yet you keep coming back at me that I'm being biased. I know that no one cares about my personal opinion, neither would I want anyone to care for that matter.

I'm too cheap to buy a Switch so I'm going to bash it anyway I can and talk up the system I already bought.

You haven't given any hard facts, you don't even know what that means.

It all depends. I have both, Wii U has a great array of games available to it when you mod it, which makes it my go to console for many games semi current and retro, without what seems as much risk for a ban from Nintendo. The requirement for the gamepad can be a bit tedious, but it's still a good console imo, and removes the need for having others. The Switch is nice, but handheld mode gets toasty and even a little uncomfortable while playing BOTW and other titles, which brings me to my next point. Many of the titles are available on Wii U, and currently there's not many Switch exclusive titles that make me feel it is worth the upgrade yet. This is Nintendo's flagship console, and while they'll continue to support the 3DS/2DS line, there probably won't be many first party games coming out if any, which means the Switch will be the console to receive games for the next 4-5 years. They may do revisions to the console itself, but I don't see them releasing a different console any time soon, so I'd expect to see some great first party games along with third party. And given how well some ports have worked like DOOM and the fact Nintendo is working with third party to allow the ports, I'd expect to see some other games ported from previous generation consoles/steam.

So in short, unless you're a die-hard Smash fan or fan of some other Switch exclusive, it's not worth it yet. It will be in the near future though since it will be the focus of their game releases.
