I'm trying to completely avoid save states, go old school. Started with SotN - I made it to the first save point and saved, then died. Get back to the main menu.... and I can't load my save.

I tried with an SNES game and it worked fine, so maybe it's just the PS1 piece? Or somehow just SotN?

Has anybody else had this problem?

He said he wants to save like old games
I understand that. Wouldn't creating a savestate only at save points and loading them only once he dies function the same as a memory card save? I'm assuming he wants to avoid savestates since they can be used to give you an advantage, but I don't think you would get an advantage if you used them as I described.

I suppose so, I guess it would just be nice to be able to load a game. Doing it 100% from save states feels meh.
