Hacking Is it possible to turn VC saves into .srm?

I converted my snes save file (.srm) to a VC save simply by renaming/installing.

I figured the same might work by doing the opposite but emulators don't read the file.
Is it possible to take a save file from a VC game like FF3 then make the save readable for emulators?

No. VC is a little more complex than SNES emulators...

It's simple to convert from SNES to VC because you just need to add some dummy data which the game overwrites when booted, but to go back, you'd need to delete that data and only that data.

If I recall correctly, someone did take the save data for OoT or MM on the N64 VC and get it working in an emulator. Search the GBAtemp forums. (It involved the save file being byte-by-byte reversed from what it should be).

IIRC SNES saves are not byte swapped, just padded. Open the VC save in a hex editor and scroll to the end, there should be a bunch of a single character repeated over and over. Just delete the repeating characters. If you want to double check, make a new save in your emulator and compare the sizes. Once you trim off the padding they should be the same size. This all assumes you actually unpacked the save with FE100 or SaveGameManager GX and aren't just trying to use the save.bin...
