ROM Hack Question Is it possible to add mods to darkest dungeon?

If you are talking about skin mods, you will need to convert them and there is no easy way to do it (but it should be possible if you are a patient person). There are other mods than that?
I didn't checked game files, so there is still a chance that I may be wrong.

I checked game and it looks like it doesn't need any specific treatment for textures. They are just .dds format without swizzle, so PC mods should be compatible with Switch if they are in the same path, they have the same resolution and format of dds (probably all textures on Switch Darkest Dungeon uses DXT5).

I don't know how it's added to PC version, but if it needs additional DLLs, then it's not possible.
I was talking this whole time about textures.

If it's not working, then it's not possible by default method.

Funny thing... I manged to get it the mod loading but it froze the switch
After loading a safe

From I understand you have extract and sci and the NCA to the roms and then put the mods

Texture formats may be different. Try to check if they use DXT5 for DDS files in mod.
