I haven't really seen any new homebrew for the 3DS lately. Is it dead?

Also, sorry if this isn't the appropriate forum for this question.

Is there much left to do with the console, actually?

We have alternative media players, emulators of all kind (PSX emulation now gaining traction) alternative launchers, home made menu themes and stickers, ports that go up to Quake 3... list is huge.

I think we can say the console had a good run, but it's time to give it a rest.

Lot of projects need final touches. Like the doom port.
No time to give it a rest.
I.e. There is no project to make nds game work in 3d.
Still not a virtual boy emulator. :(

Our webstats for bruteforcemovable.com show that about 1000/day are still hacking their 3ds, and about 400,000 *total in the last year alone.
They usually go to Discord servers for help instead of here, so that's why you guys aren't seeing much activity here.

The 3ds is still being sold and a good portion of them want to hack their system (typical of EOL timeframes).

* this stat doesn't include ntrboot and safehax, so the real total is probably significantly larger

There is another Virtual Boy Emulator for the 3DS in development.

How do I load this up in my 3DS?

You don't, just yet. The most recent development finished up the hardware functions in a Java implementation, which is designed to run on a workstation. The next phase (after filling out those greyed-out menus) is to port the implementation to C so it can be built as a native library, then use that on 3DS.

Half Life

PS1 Emulation, GBA Injects, SNES and NES and Turbografx16 and whole game boy line

TWiLightMenu++ and nds-bootstrap (tl;dr: basically god)

LINE

Checkpoint for cheats and saves

3DShell

Master System Emulation and genesis iirc

Pictochat fucking works

NTR CFW for Streaming

FAN TRANSLATIONS OF THE GREAT ACE ATTORNEY

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Yeah, missed opportunity not having a fullspeed virtual boy emulator.
What's the best option for emulating Virtual Boy on the 3DS currently? Never occurred to me that the 3DS would actually be able to do the 3D effect as well.
