I ended up burning a hole through my original soldering iron through the course of normal use, though I did not clean it like I do now. It was a Harbor Freight 30w iron, normal tip, leaded flux-core solder. My new tips, freaking DealExtreme ones, have withstood everything so far, though I clean them between uses (usually).
So I'm not the only one XD, My original one was a wellington I picked up at homedepot, not too good for micro-soldering but I managed. I didn't clean it unless I was doing a tricky job. I use lead free solder , not as good as lead solder in my opinion but I guess it's better health wise.

Great, my soldeirng Iron has a defective tip , heats up to the right temp but doens't melt any solder( only on one spot it melts ) I'm thinking it doesn't have that special coating, all wiring is at a stand still, I did do case work though

I've had a lot of tips do that. RadioShack sells a soldering tip cleaner that kinda fixes it

Got new tips (they sent me four, awesome) A new Dol-101 Gamecube . But now the screen ribbon cable is shot and I need a new screen . Always something. At least I can install a wii-key and everything now. And Devin if you haven't got a power brick yet, I got one with the gamecube i can give you.

Glad to see you're still active! I don't know if you remember me, but about 1 year ago I was planning on making something similar to this. Sadly, things didn't go well and I am still unable to find a refurbished / new / used GameCube for a reasonable price. The only thing I really remember is that there are different GameCube revisions (A-C) and I should stay away from one... Can't remember which one though >.<

I'd really appreciate it if you could PM me some information such as:
-What to use for a Battery Pack
-Monitor/Screen
-What version of wiikey would work best with this kind of project

Edit: Might consider getting Stray Sheep Sales' GameCube, however it doesn't come with a power brick, etc. Where might I find that sort of supply?
Meh Power Brick? Found some of my old posts

The Update that changed the world (echo echo echo)

New case 3d printed out on my crappy diy printer, Printed in 2 pieces. Took about 6 hours in total. After both halfs printed it was promptly joined together and maimed.

Front remained the same pretty much

It is "only" 2 inches thick. This actually leaves me quite a bit of room for batteries which I shall add later ( I have one now from my taser project that is the right voltage but it would only give me 45 minutes of play time)

It needs to be sanded/ painted and I need to add a fan. Controls that need to be hooked up are the c-stick, shoulder buttons and the x-y buttons. With all the room I may even add a speaker instead of just a audio jack and a rumble motor who knows. Long story short, shit got done.

So, in order to get new parts for other projects I think I sold my gamecube games? That's dissapointing, now I need to decide between batteries or games. Thoughts?

Batteries.
It is critical for any PGC.

I thought you wired a WKF to the MB?
You could get rid of the disc drive.
