Hacking Installing cfw on 11.9

Hi people,

As I was batching a few 3DS last night, I accidentally updated one of them...

I did try the usual guide, however, the otherapp payload 11.9.0.42 is not available.
As for the hardmod, the firmware 2.56-0 11.9.firm is also not available.

Is there any way to cfw a 11.9 for the moment or should I just be patient?

Nothing important changed with 11.9. Just use 11.8 wherever it calls for 11.9.

^^! I tried, when the steelhax loads, got yellow screen on bottom screen and garbage or black screen on top.
Just to be sure I redid the whole setup twice, same result...

To do frogminer you need to also do steelminer first.

Try redownloading the Homebrew Launcher (boot.3dsx) file and the otherapp.bin file

A bit confused I must say, my usual way to install a cfw is to prepare my sd card, ..., obtain payload, lauch steel submarine thingy and then in hbm do the frogminer...

Anyway, thx for input, will do it again later, got some more 3ds to cfw.

Don't know if this helps (I'm still new in this 3ds cfw) but I'm already in cfw and accidently updated to 11.9 when going to eshop (because my 3ds is still in Japanese language).
The system still boots fine in cfw but haven't test any games yet.

But the 11.8 seems to be hacked only by software.
So, is it better to update to 11.9 (last firmware) and hack it the 11.8 way without linker and hardmod ?
Whats are the cons of this method ?

Yes it's definitely better to use frogminer (the "11.8" way you refer to, which is also compatible with 11.9)

But I can't do it without risking my life... Why does it have to be downloaded via torrent? I'm in Europe and I'm not sure torrent is allowed.
