Hacking Installing and using DLC

Hi I'm just new and hack my wii u I'm interested in learning correctly about DLC.

The way was installing was my game was put 3 files in sd cad game/update/DLC in wap installer and it was installing as a list to my USB.

But I found someone said this in the forum
'Yes, HBL, install, then play the game. Like it was mentioned before, you will have to run cfw or any sigpatcher before playing a game with dlc or it will say something about corrupt files

Yes it matters. Game, update, dlc, save, etc.. Should all be in one location. Either they are all on USB or system

My questions
1/ was I installing my files wrong should they not be done in one go in wap installer ? Eg game , update, DLC

2/ should I play the game before installing DLC?

3/ should I be making sure my save data is going to USB before installing DCL? and if so how?

4/ what's the pros and cons for using DCL?

5/ Has many of the games got DLC that's worth getting and using?
