If your browser is crashing and your on a 4.x or older system, you may try loading Nintendo's home page first then loading the exploit page. For some odd reason on the older firmwares, clearing cookies/history can have the opposite effect. ;)

Thanks for the heads up, I love working on odd situations like this so any insight helps

No there is not a huge risk as long as you follow step by step. The bigger problem for you is still going to be getting FBI on system nand / emunan

https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/

Lookup step 4a
But injecting the nand again into sysnand sounds quite risky, btw I can inject FBI on emunand just not into sysnand

I will try it though I sometimes had many tabs open when trying to boot rxtools.
Just to make clear I cant boot rxtools 3.0, 2.6 works fine. But installing rxinstaller.bin aswell

Note that rxTools 3.0 and 2.6 use different mset payloads. Be sure you don't use 2.6 mset on 3.x. It won't boot correctly in that case. As for the browser. Try clearing history and cookies, then load nintendo home page (wait for it to finish loading), then load up your rxTools exploit page. I believe the newer 3.x builds uses a new unencrypted browser expoit payload too. So be sure you're using the 3.x compatible html payload. The one that boots 2.6 will not work with 3.x builds.

Once you have fbi in emunand see if you can boot rx non emunand and load fbi and install to system nand.

Edit just tried and it doesn't work. I did inject fbi into both emu and sys with no problem using 2.6. Also can you see if by chance browser hax works?

I'm using browserhax and not the mset exploit, mset doesn't work for me, at all, for some reason. I did everything like in readme of 3.0 and used only files that came with it, I used the same URL as in readme, too.

I personally use sudukuhax just because it works so well as a safety net. The part of the nand you're overwriting can't result in a brick so if you mess up use GW to flash back the nand and do it again. I install it on a lot of consoles for people I mod because I never know if they will mess up mset

Is it really, really save? You mean the internet browser GW launcher? Since I cannot use a flashcard you know...
Does this mod have any better opportunities?

You can access the GW menu right? So that means you can read and write to the nand if something goes wrong. If you follow the directions step by step it only touches a part of the 3ds that will not result in a brick. Once flashed it will run the ds installer like a ds flash card would.

There probably is an easier, look at the rx quick start guide and see if mset install is covered in there without a flash card

The thing is just if I insert NAND and something interrupts wouldn't it be a total brick? There is a section for MSET it just crashs when I start rxinstaller.bin and every other mset exploit crashs, aswell

It's a tough call man. Usually writing back to the nand is safe as long as your above 50% battery and plugged in.

Did you ever try browserhax? If we can get hbl then we can load pasta and run sysupater to 9.2 and then autoboot from there

I would love to update to 9.2 for autoboot, though I read about bricks and things, is it save? I think browserhax should work since I can use the go gw launcher. Can you send me a tutorial?

BrowserHAX

1) Download Smea’s starter pack: #LINK and extract the files on your SDcard.
2) If you have never use a theme on your 3DS, go into the theme setting & wait for the preparation to finish then return in home menu.
3) 1st you have to turn off the Wi-Fi, next open the 3DS camera by pressing L & R at home screen, touch the QR icon at bottom-left of the bottom screen and scan the QR CODE :
3dsbrowserhax_auto_qrcode.png
then open the internet browser when the message appear.
4) The connection will fail since there is no internet, press home and activate the Wi-FI. Launch again the internet browser and wait until the Homebrew Launcher is launched. The bottom will flash into different colors, yellow, gray, blue & red.
For O3DS user : When you launch the internet browser you have zoom-in several times then go in the upper-left. You will see a slide bar, you have to click a the end of the bar. You may have to retry if it doesn't work, you also try to wait 20 seconds before clicking & hold the A button when you click on it. IT CAN BE REALLY HARD TO GET INTO HBL !!!!

Once in hbl we can run pasta and then run fbi to inject BBM and sysupdater. Once done we run sys updater to 9.2 (I'll pm you the files when the time comes) once on 9.2 we can install homehax and finally autoboot to rx

It's safe as long as you follow my directions exactly on the 4.5 to 9.2 update part. Other then that it's basically brick free. I'll give you all the necessary apps and files so you'll be good.

I am determined to get your broken 3DS the best setup

I thought browserhax was like the spider exploit, so I my thought was wrong, I need to be on 9.0 for browserhax. If I decrypted my nand with rxtools and modified it, where do I insert it back into it? Is it the option for injecting nand? Also is it enough if I do the FBI injection on nand only with sysnand? Since I got it on emunand anyway?

As an update I got it done now. For everyone having the same problem: At first I used Raku's tutorial on injecting FBI manually on nand. Then I "restored" my new modified nand by using GW launcher and holding D Up while choosing downgrade. Afterwards I used rxtools 2.5.2 (since 3.0 doesn't work for me and 2.6 does not include devmode) to boot into devmode and install sysupdater and use it to update my sysnand to 9.2. Now I have themehax installed and I am happy :)
