This is a simple yet powerful tool that I made to cleanup PNG images dump.

Capture.PNG

You can use it to get rid of duplicates, specially the useless ones that keep repeating forever.

How to use:
  • Select you dumps folder.
  • Enter partial name of the images you want to be deleted for example:
    • You've these images [1a5a42707c8cfd6e-00002a80.png] and [1bbf364afcfe021f-00002a80].
    • Copy the repeating or the duplicate partial name after the dash which in this case, it's [00002a80].
  • Enter or paste the name, if you have more images that you need to include, enter the second name after comma without space (You can enter as many names as you want).
  • Leave Enter retry interval to 5 or more, the minimum is 1. This option will keep to try to delete the images in case the image currently in use.
  • Click Start Monitoring: This will keep deleting the images that you provided instantly.
I used it more than I could count for different situation, for example I used it to make Constantine HD Texture pack.
You can safely enter a duplicate name after or before the dashes or between the dashes, hit start monitoring and dump in peace without thinking of textures reaches in thousands that you don't need.

You can leave it in background and keep playing, it will keep deleting images while in dump mode.

Update V2.0.0

Screenshot 2025-03-17 002114.png
New in update 2.0.0:

  • You can now Save and Load your settings from and to a JSON file (you can save settings for each game).
  • Dark mode added.
  • Backup folder (Optional) added. Now you can move the files instead of deleting them.
  • Alternative way to add hashes, one by one. (Useful if you have many hashes).
  • Help window added on how to use.
  • window size now bigger 800×700.
  • Allowed the app to minimize to the system tray so it could run in the background.

YESSSSS!!

Now I assume this will move the images to the recycle bin instead of actually deleting them since that would be very resource intensive and still wouldn't fix 1000+ dumps per second games.
No, it will delete them from your system, it will not move them to the recycle bin.
it's very light and quick don't worry, even for 1000+ per second dumps textures.

I've became a power shell and wild carding search (*) master while modding resident evil titles. No pc here to test but sounds like getchild variants lol... Must be useful. Nice wirk

great

Wouldn't this just cause constant writing to disk storage, isn't that a bad thing for SSDs/NVMEs? Dumping/replacement is in dire need of QOL features...

If you can update it to use more then 1 file or 1 name that will be great

I don't really see the point, it deletes all the textures with that string at the end so you don't have that texture anymore?

you identify a duplicate texture early within the first 10 mins of gameplay then add the string to the program so it doesn't duplicate a million images and become 50+ GB. It's only for problematic games, most aren't problematic like that.

Look I would give you a tip if you want to improve it even more for your cursor ai program which is an artificial intelligence program that helps you create scripts

First of all, thank you for your consideration to make a donation.

I don't understand the last part which is "your cursor ai program which is an artificial intelligence program that helps you create scripts".

As for the further improvement updates for the tool, I don't have plans right now to update it anymore, the reason is that the tool is doing what needs to be doing, maybe will update it in the future, no promises.
