Tamagotchis are THE most popular virtual pet, but they seem to go kaput for no reason at all. Even replacing the battery will do nothing.

It would be so awesome if someone could port the existing Tamagotchi Simulator to the DS, or make a whole new one completely. Here's my idea of how it would work:

-Top Screen would be the Tama and icons, like the upper 9/10 of the real thing.
-Touch Screen would have the buttons for the Tama, like so, with the gray ones being invisible in the program:

O------O------O
----O------O----
--------O--------

The invisible buttons would simulate how multi-touch on the DS works, so they would have to be EXACTLY between the two buttons in question.

So anyone out there who wants Tamagotchi DS, give a shout!

This actually seems like a plausible idea! Sorry, but I am not a coder. I would like to see this, however. Maybe someone will pick this up.

That doesnt sound like such a bad idea... I might pick this as a first little project when i advance
further into programming. (Im an amateur at programming at the moment.)

I may look into this..
Been searching for a new project to code for a while.
But cba to start over my Pokédex project.

Soo, I dont promise anything, but I'll look into it.

Gosh the memories, everyone had a tamagotchi keychain back when I was in kindergarten (except for me of course) but if someone feels like doing this, yes please!

Can someone remind me of exactly what tamagotchi's do? I know you feed them but I can't remember anything else.

I would make one, but if I released it, everyone would flame on me and insult me.

Dont you mean your incompetence prevents you from releasing it and updating it frequently?

I would make one, but if I don't know if theres a tamagotchi template included in DS game maker.

well, why don't you take your homebrew passion to the next level (1st level even), and learn PAlib

Just ignore Skullcollector he is seeking attention. He doesn't seem to care if it is negative or positive.

He claims to already know how to program C and a bit of C++ (Fail eh?) and said
he knows how to use PAlib. I doubt it anyways.

I'd have to disagree with you, I think he's just trying to get positive attention and
have people like him and become a "role model".

Agreed there Magmorph, the kid might be able to code some stuff but he really needs to get a good bit of stuff together before announcing things. Hell most newbie coders only post the tiny apps they've made and work to see what people think and most people are fairly encouraging then.

Tamagotchi DS is certainly possible, the thing is that Tamagotchis work in real time and I reckon it would be rather boring sitting at your DS waiting for your Tamagotchi to want to do something, hell I think they limit the number of times you can play games each day.

It could be based on your internal clock like a real Tamagotchi. It could save the time you last played it and depending on when you play it again there would be consequences.(getting hungry, pooping, dying)

I am not seeking attention.
I DO know PAlib, C andC++.

I was just saying, it's not a hard game to make!

I'll tell you what, once I've finished my new game, in about 1 year, I might look into this.

Or maybe someone that is actually dependable will see this idea and do it sometime before then.
