Let's face it, current eighth generation consoles (i.e. PS4, XB1, Wii U) all have mediocre libraries. Which is understandable since it's been only a year for the Wii U since launch and mere months for the other two. That said, Wii U has more games available due to the fact it released with a 1 year headstart.

Let's also not forget backwards compatibility, which is not available for either PS4 or XB1. So if you never had the chance to play Wii games, the Wii U has you covered. A nice bonus if you ask me. Then there's games that are multiplatform, mbut have better features in the Wii U versions. Even Need for Speed: Most Wanted from EA is better on a Wii U than other consoles, read any review. (Which is funny considering EA has dropped support for the Wii U.)

Finally, if you lime Nintendo and Ubisoft, then Wii U is the top choice for you. From Rayman Legends to Just Dance 2014, Ubisoft games just have that extra polish to them that make the Wii U versions stand out from the rest. Can't wait to see what Watch_Dogs will be like on the Wii U. So, you don't necessarily have to play Nintendo games, but they are arguably some of the best games in the entire industry. Nintendo has been making excellent games in the past few years, even Super Mario 3D World is topping review scores and charts despite being the "same old Mario over and over again". Add to the fact that this year will see the release of some must-have exclusives like Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. 4, and possibly X and Bayonetta 2. I'm sure they're all going to be system sellers and chart hits. But if you don't like those games, that's fine. That's why there's choice. (Especially if you are into EA games, in which case the Wii U is the worst choice possible.)

To be fair for one year out of the gates it has a dismal library. Right now I think buying any "next gen" console is a terrible decision. There's reports popping up constantly of issues with all of them. XB1's are leaking, PS4's are deleting your saves, Wii U's are terrible.

Also are we really considering Just Dance 2013 a killer app? No offense but the people who enjoy Just Dance literally just want to dance. I don't think anyone likes the game THAT much to upgrade from a Wii to a Wii U. Also why would you buy a Wii U for Rayman Legends? The Murphy levels are terrible and you can just get a Vita and the game with all the same content for less. Plus you get a much better console with it. Same with Watch_Dogs, why choose a Wii U over a Xbox 360 or a PS3? Hell even a PS4 or XB1 which look much more promising?

Mario ALWAYS tops review scores but I thought we'd learn by now that games journalism is shit. It's charting reviews but certainly not sales charts.

Buy a 3DS, Smash Bros. 3DS, and Mario Kart 7 and save yourself the trouble of buying a bad console.

People actually think X will be a "killer app" and that it'll be released this year and will be localized? As for Bayonetta 2, sure it'll be cool but it's not worth getting the console over. Do yourselves a favor and just buy Metal Gear Rising instead.

You're just hard pressed to find a reason to choose a Wii U over a current gen console and at least its competition has a promising future. Right now my suggestion for everyone is to invest in handhelds. Get a 3DS and a Vita. They'll be getting good games this year as always, they're cheaper in price of console and price of games than home consoles, and they are much more varied in general.

Holy shit I just got a Kindle Fire HD for like $89. Great minds think alike.

Unlike whoever buys a Wii U. Cough cough.

He needs games with his console not crap.
Well, if you can get games with the console for the same price, then why not? You can always sell them.
(that said I agree a Vita + 3DS is the best thing to own right now - I need to get myself a Vita eventually but in the meantime I'll rack up PS+ games)

I'm actually thinking about cancelling my order now.

Don't do it. You'll have plenty of fun with it. People are fast to criticize Nintendo for not releasing enough games, but how many good games do you need (of those already released)? Sure, if Wii U's library isn't doing it for you, then the console is not for you, but Wii U is not as bad as most people make it out to be. I bought one just recently, and it was worth it for the bundled New Super Mario Bros U alone. I also fell in love with the Wonderful 101 demo. And I kind of want Trine 2 as well, but you can get that on PC. Oh, well. Wii U is cheap as chips, so get yourself a Mario bundle (because Nintendo Land is cheap, but standalone Mario & Luigi U aren't) and take it for a spin.

Isn't it against the rules to flame bait?

PC and the 3ds are the way to go. There isn't much else out there this generation.

For those that don't know the Premium Pack already comes bundled with Nintendo Land, a game which I'd like to own but haven't bought it yet.

Those mini-games look like a lot of fun, especially Zelda's one.

Bought a Wii U
I knew that was you !!

I own a wiiu, for the most part it sits idle

i do own and have played
new super luigi u
new super mario u
pikmen 2
mario 3d world
zombi u (omg, this game was bad - and they blamed console for no sales, no fucking way, this game is by far the worse release of any title on any system in a long time)
Lego
Wonderful 101

Ill grab more as they come, i use my ps4 for most games, PC and XBONE for the rest.

And i wont lie, im glad i have a wiiu, its been good; needs games for real though.

It is only flame bait if it is not true.

By the way do share how the Kindle goes, at that price (the one Guild mentioned) it is enough that I could see a few clients stepping on one and not worrying too much about it.

What does the troll say?

I have to laugh at the people who are posting literally every game that is out on the Wii U and saying "LOOK AT ALL THESE KILLER APPS LOOK!" no matter how old or average the game is. It is just hilariously desperate. It's almost as bad as the people who make the argument "YOU THINK THE WII U HAS NO GAMES HUH? WELL FYI IT HAS MORE GAMES THAN THE X1 AND PS4

COMBINED!"

Which is a truly desperate and laughable argument to make. Just going by the the sales of the X1 and PS4 alone you know they will get a ton of support in the near future, it is just inevitable.

Saying that somebody isn't smart for buying a Wii U is troll-baiting, and not only that, it's an opinion.

Also, if anyone figures out how to pirate Wii U games, sales for consoles are going to skyrocket. Add that to the fact that the only thing Sony has to offer that actually is different are PS2 and PSX re-releases, and Nintendo has the best exclusives. I've said this before and I'll say it again; Why would I want to buy a third party game like Injustice, Assassin's Creed, etc., when it's just going to be on sale on Steam, Amazon, or another digital distribution platform for half the price a few weeks later.

It's going to be all about console exclusives (which is why the 3DS is doing well) and so far, let's just say I've had a knack at pointing out business trends. It might even be instinctual to know that cable is pretty much dead, so the PVR functions on these consoles are useless.

This is what Nintendo fans believe.
